TL;DR: In this article, the genetic variation in eight clinically relevant hematological parameters, including hemoglobin levels, red and white blood cell counts and platelet counts and volume, was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Wild oat and climate change: The effect of CO2 concentration, temperature, and water deficit on the growth and development of wild oat in monoculture
TL;DR: The results indicate that the main climate change variables ([CO2], soil moisture, and increased temperature) directly influence the growth and development of wild oat and are likely to affect the population dynamics of this species.
Journal ArticleDOI
Current issues concerning thrombolytic therapy for acute myocardial infarction
Charles H. Hennekens,Charles H. Hennekens,Christopher J. O'Donnell,Christopher J. O'Donnell,Paul M. Ridker,Victor J. Marder +5 more
TL;DR: The totality of evidence clearly indicates that streptokinase produces significantly fewer strokes and cerebral hemorrhages than either t-PA or APSAC.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of HapMap and 1000 Genomes Reference Panels in a Large-Scale Genome-Wide Association Study

TL;DR: 1000G imputations enabled the identification of 20% more loci than HapMap imputation, although the advantage of 1000G imputation became less clear when a stricter Bonferroni correction was used.
Journal ArticleDOI
The effect of aerosolized recombinant human granulocyte macrophage colony-stimulating factor on lung leukocytes in nonhuman primates.

TL;DR: Intravenous administration of GM-CSF had the expected effect on augmenting the number of myeloid cells in the bloodstream and produced a transient effect on circulating myeloids cell number between 3 and 5 days after exposure.
