Heart rate recovery after treadmill exercise testing and risk of cardiovascular disease events (The Framingham Heart Study).
Ali Morshedi-Meibodi,Martin G. Larson,Daniel Levy,Christopher J. O'Donnell,Christopher J. O'Donnell,Ramachandran S. Vasan +5 more
TL;DR: A very rapid HR recovery immediately after exercise was associated with lower risk of CHD and CVD events, and these findings should be confirmed in other settings.
Journal ArticleDOI
Relevance of Genetics and Genomics for Prevention and Treatment of Cardiovascular Disease A Scientific Statement From the American Heart Association Council on Epidemiology and Prevention, the Stroke Council, and the Functional Genomics and Translational Biology Interdisciplinary Working Group
Donna K. Arnett,Alison E. Baird,Ruth Ann Barkley,Craig T. Basson,Eric Boerwinkle,Santhi K. Ganesh,David M. Herrington,Yuling Hong,Cashell E. Jaquish,Deborah A. McDermott,Christopher J. O'Donnell +10 more
TL;DR: The approaches researchers are using to advance understanding of the genetic basis of CVD are described and the current state of knowledge regarding the genetics of myocardial infarction, atherosclerotic CVD, hypercholesterolemia, and hypertension are details.
Journal ArticleDOI

Abecasis,Stephen S. Rich,Russell P. Tracy,Cristen J. Willer +101 more
TL;DR: This large whole-exome-sequencing study for LDL-C identified a gene not known to be implicated in LDL- C and provides unique insight into the design and analysis of similar experiments.
Journal ArticleDOI
Visceral fat is associated with lower brain volume in healthy middle-aged adults.
Stéphanie Debette,Alexa S. Beiser,Alexa S. Beiser,Udo Hoffmann,Charles DeCarli,Christopher J. O'Donnell,Christopher J. O'Donnell,Joseph M. Massaro,Joseph M. Massaro,Rhoda Au,Rhoda Au,Jayandra J. Himali,Jayandra J. Himali,Philip A. Wolf,Philip A. Wolf,Caroline S. Fox,Caroline S. Fox,Sudha Seshadri,Sudha Seshadri +18 more
TL;DR: The aim was to examine the cross‐sectional association of body mass index, waist circumference, waist‐to‐hip ratio, and computed tomography‐based measurements of subcutaneous and visceral adipose tissue with various magnetic resonance imaging markers of brain aging in middle‐aged community adults.
Journal ArticleDOI
Age and sex distribution of subclinical aortic atherosclerosis: a magnetic resonance imaging examination of the Framingham Heart Study.
Farouc A. Jaffer,Christopher J. O'Donnell,Martin G. Larson,Stephen Kam-wah Chan,Kraig V. Kissinger,Michelle J. Kupka,Carol J Salton,René M. Botnar,Daniel Levy,Warren J. Manning +9 more
TL;DR: Plaque prevalence and all measures of plaque burden increased with age group and were greater in the abdomen than in the thorax for both sexes and across all age groups and the Framingham Coronary Risk Score was significantly correlated with all plaque prevalence and burden measures.
