Global distribution of earthworm diversity

Helen Phillips, +145 more
- 25 Oct 2019 -
TL;DR: It was found that local species richness and abundance typically peaked at higher latitudes, displaying patterns opposite to those observed in aboveground organisms, which suggest that climate change may have serious implications for earthworm communities and for the functions they provide.
Journal ArticleDOI

Soil macrofauna in relation to soil and leaf litter properties in tree plantations.

TL;DR: It was revealed that the tree species clearly affected macrofauna whereas nitrogen fixation did not, and the results suggest that the earthworm distribution is regulated by leaf litter quality whereas the macroFauna richness is regulatedby leaf litter mass, soil organic carbon and leaf litter Mg.
Journal ArticleDOI

Spatial analysis of riparian forest soil macrofauna and its relation to abiotic soil properties

TL;DR: In this article, a study was conducted in riparian forest to elucidate spatial patterns of soil macrofauna and their relationship to abiotic soil properties at regional scale, where the authors used geostatistics (variograms and cross-variograms) to describe and quantify the spatial continuity of macro-fauna characteristics and their relation to soil properties.

Effect of Superabsorbent Polymer Aquasorb on Chlorophyll, Antioxidant Enzymes and Some Growth Characteristics of Acacia Victoriae Seedlings under Drought Stress

TL;DR: The different levels of SAP could absorb and hold water and consequently reduce the effect of drought stress and improve the growth characteristics and reduce the activity of catalase and peroxidase enzymes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Global data on earthworm abundance, biomass, diversity and corresponding environmental properties

Helen Phillips, +173 more
- 21 May 2021 -
TL;DR: The Earthworm diversity data, obtained from the primary literature or provided directly by authors, were collated with information on site locations, including coordinates, habitat cover, and soil properties.
