Abstract: Using the differential buffered and transconductance amplifier (DBTA), together with a unity-gain current mirror cell, a new third order low pass Butterworth filter function realization is presented. The design is practically active-insensitive relative to the port mismatch errors (e) of the devices and the effect of the parasitic capacitances may be minimized by absorbing their values within the nominal value of the capacitors, all three of which are grounded. The design is verified for 3-db cut-off frequency at f 0 = 5MHz and 10MHz, with both hardware circuit test and by PSPICE simulation.

Abstract: The present study deals with removal of lead from simulated wastewater using a continuous packed bed bioreactor packed with lead-resistant Acinetobacter sp 158 immobilized on coconut coir chips. Acinetobacter sp 158 was isolated from battery industry effluent mud, and biocatalysts were made by using attached growth technique. In order to investigate reactor performance, a set of programmed experiments was performed. The potential of bioconversion of lead through immobilized cell was studied by changing initial substrate concentration along with flow rate with an intention to predict removal of lead through judicious modeling and simulation exercise.

01 Jan 2015TL;DR: The major focus of this paper is to design and develop different types of E-Learning services in Computational Grid Environment, able to handle large multimedia learning materials using the features of Grid Technology.
Abstract: In recent years the Internet learners can freely absorb new knowledge without restrictions on time or place. At present, most E-Learning environment architectures use single computers or servers as their structural foundations. Traditional E-Learning systems have major drawback because of their limitations in scalability, availability, distribution of computing power and huge storage systems, as well as sharing information between users. In this context, the use of Grid technology reveals its utility and availability, as scalable, flexible coordinated and secure resource sharing among geographically distributed individuals or institutions, in the perspective of E-Learning system. The major focus of this paper is to design and develop different types of E-Learning services in Computational Grid Environment. This proposed system is able to handle large multimedia learning materials using the features of Grid Technology.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied the impact of United States of America's lockdown measures during the COVID-19 pandemic in restricting the spread of infection and found that a properly implemented hard lockdown followed by a soft lockdown is indeed effective in reducing the reproduction number (R 0 ).
Abstract: Social distancing, leading to lockdown, has been followed as a measure to restrict the spread of COVID-19 infection in almost every country. In this paper, we study the impact of the United States of America's lockdown measures during this pandemic in restricting the spread of infection. We have split the lockdown into two types - hard lockdown and soft lockdown. A hard lockdown is defined as the period when only essential services are provided. On the other hand, in the soft lockdown period, non-essential services are allowed, but with prevailing social distancing measures. Our findings suggest that a properly implemented Hard Lockdown followed by a soft Lockdown is indeed effective in reducing the reproduction number (R 0 ). Although R 0 increases during the soft lockdown, the rate of increase is restricted if the hard lockdown was implemented favorably. As exceptions to this general trend, we have observed that in Washington state Hard Lockdown has failed to reduce R 0 , and Vermont’s soft lockdown implementation was successful in controlling the increase in R 0 post-Hard Lockdown.
