TL;DR: Elman's recurrent neural network (ERNN) is employed for automatic identification of healthy and pathological gait and subsequent diagnosis of the neurological disorder in pathological gaits from the respective gait patterns.
Abstract: In this paper Elman's recurrent neural network (ERNN) is employed for automatic identification of healthy and pathological gait and subsequent diagnosis of the neurological disorder in pathological gaits from the respective gait patterns. Stance, swing and double support intervals (expressed as percentages of stride) of 63 subjects were analysed for a period of approximately 300 s. The relevant gait features are extracted from cross-correlograms of these signals with corresponding signals of a reference subject. These gait features are used to train modular ERNNs performing binary and tertiary classifications. The average accuracy of binary classifiers is obtained as 90.6%–97.8% and that of tertiary classifiers is 89.8%. Hence, two hierarchical schemes are developed each of which uses more than one modular ERNN to segregate healthy, Parkinson's disease, Huntington's disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis subjects. The average testing performances of the schemes are 83.8% and 87.1%.

TL;DR: This paper has developed a generalized intuitionistic fuzzy number and its arithmetic operations and it is a unique attempt made in which for the first time two basic generalized intuitionism fuzzy numbers namely generalized trapezoidal and generalized triangular intuitionists fuzzy numbers have been considered to serve the purpose.
Abstract: Intuitionistic fuzzy has always been a subject of keen interest, and a rigorous research has also been done on it. However, those research works were mainly based on normal intuitionistic fuzzy- a generalized approach to it could hardly be seen. So in this paper, we have developed a generalized intuitionistic fuzzy number and its arithmetic operations. It is a unique attempt made by us in which for the first time two basic generalized intuitionistic fuzzy numbers namely generalized trapezoidal and generalized triangular intuitionistic fuzzy numbers have been considered to serve the purpose. All arithmetic operations have been formulated on the basis of (α, β)-cut method, vertex method and extension principle method. Comparison among those three methods using an example is given and numerical results have been presented graphically. A new method is proposed to solve generalized intuitionistic fuzzy transportation problem (GIFTP) using ranking function. To validate the proposed method we have solved a GIFTP by assuming transportation cost, supply and demand of the product in generalized intuitionistic fuzzy numbers and the optimum results have been compared with the results of normal intuitionistic fuzzy transportation problem.

TL;DR: An efficient approach for group multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) based on intuitionistic multi-fuzzy set (IMFS) is proposed and score function and accuracy function of IMFS with an application to MCDM are presented.
Abstract: In this paper we propose an efficient approach for group multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) based on intuitionistic multi-fuzzy set (IMFS). First we construct intuitionistic multi-fuzzy matrices for decision makers with respect to the criteria (attributes) of the alternatives. Based on intuitionistic multi-fuzzy matrices, we construct the aggregated intuitionistic multi-fuzzy matrix using the proposed intuitionistic multi-fuzzy weighted averaging (IMFWA) operator. Then we use Hamming distance and Euclidean distance measurements in the context of IMFS between the aggregated matrix and the specified sample matrix to reach the optimal decision. This paper also presents score function and accuracy function of IMFS with an application to MCDM. Finally, a real-life case study related to heart disease diagnosis problem is provided to illustrate the advantage of the proposed approach.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a theoretical formulation to estimate the resonant frequency and magnetic polarizability of a circular split ring resonator (SRR) and compared with experimental and simulation results revealing excellent agreement for a wide range of frequencies.
Abstract: In this article, we propose a theoretical formulation to estimate the resonant frequency and magnetic polarizability of a circular split ring resonator (SRR). The computed results are compared with experimental and simulation results revealing excellent agreement for a wide range of frequencies. The proposed theory was compared with simulation for different parametric variation of the SRR. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J RF and Microwave CAE, 2011. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
