TL;DR: In this article, a via structure for a printed circuit board is provided which includes a signal via and an elongated signal conductor strip in electrical connection with the signal via, which may be configured to have a capacitance so as to establish an impedance for the via structure.
Abstract: In one embodiment, a via structure for a printed circuit board is provided which includes a signal via and an elongated signal conductor strip in electrical connection with the signal via. The elongated signal conductor strip is adjacent to a ground conductor and extends from the conductive pad substantially to the ground conductor. The elongated signal conductor strip includes a portion extending laterally outward, which may be configured to have a capacitance so as to establish an impedance for the via structure.

TL;DR: A testing tool for Internet Service Provider (ISP) network engineers which is used to diagnose network faults, characterize network performance and evaluate new equipment and software releases is presented in this paper.
Abstract: A testing tool for Internet Service Provider (ISP) network engineers which is used to diagnose network faults, characterize network performance and evaluate new equipment and software releases. The tool can be used to schedule and run proactive tests to identify network problems before subscribers are affected. Further, the tool can be used to provide testing on demand to quickly isolate the root cause of a problem identified by the tool or by network management systems or subscribers. The tool is topology independent and thus does not have to be reconfigured as the network changes. The tool only sends traffic as directed by the network engineer and thus does not generate undesirable heavy network traffic loads, unless such a heavy network loads are desired by the network engineer.

TL;DR: In this paper, a system for analyzing the behavior of electronic devices includes a first database for storing simulation values and a second one for storing actual waveform values. And the system further includes software for aligning the values stored in the first and second databases, so that simulated and actual values can be readily compared.
Abstract: A system for analyzing the behavior of electronic devices includes a first database for storing simulation values and a second database for storing actual waveform values. The system further includes software for aligning the values stored in the first and second databases, so that simulated and actual values can be readily compared. Analysis tools are included for examining similarities and differences between simulated and actual behavior.

TL;DR: In this article, a printed circuit board assembly with a pair of printed circuit boards (12, 14) is presented, where each one of the boards has a conductive via passing from a surface of a dielectric (16) into an interior region (17, 18).
Abstract: A printed circuit board assembly (10) having a pair of printed circuit boards (12, 14). Each one of the boards (12, 14) has a conductive via (22) passing from a surface of a dielectric (16) into an interior region (17) of the dielectric (16). Each one of the printed circuit boards (12, 14) has a reference potential layer (20) and a signal conductor (18) disposed in the dielectric (16) thereof parallel to, the reference potential layer (20) thereof to provide a transmission line (25) having a predetermined impedance. The signal conductor (18) of each one of the boards is connected to the conductive via (22) thereof. The conductive via (22) in each one of the boards is configured to provide an impedance to the transmission line (25) thereof substantially matched to the impedance of the transmission line (25) thereof. A first electrical connector (32) is provided having a signal contact (36) connected to the conductive via (22) of one (12) of the boards and a second electrical connector (34) having a signal contact (38) connected to the conductive via (22) of the other one (14) of the boards. The first signal contact (36) of the first electrical conductor (32) is adapted for electrical connection to the second contact (38) of the second electrical connector (34).

TL;DR: Randomized DWA is a combination of simultaneous randomization and DWA, which attenuates tonal behavior in all frequencies, preventing aliasing of tones or tone shifting for any arbitrary input signal.
Abstract: Two techniques for prevention of in-band tones in DWA mismatch noise shaping algorithm are presented. "offset technique" moves in-band tones away from baseband, improving SNR by /spl sim/10 dB, and attenuates maximum in-band tone by as much as /spl sim/25 dB. "Randomized DWA" is a combination of simultaneous randomization and DWA, which attenuates tonal behavior in all frequencies, preventing aliasing of tones or tone shifting for any arbitrary input signal.
