TLDR
It remains to be clarified whether the probable or possible therapeutic effects of tDCS are clinically meaningful and how to optimally perform tDCS in a therapeutic setting.About:

Effects of multifocal transcranial direct current stimulation targeting the motor network during prolonged experimental pain.
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors explored the anti-nociceptive effects of a new multifocal tDCS approach administered to regions linked to the resting state motor network (network-tDCS) compared to sham tDCS.

TL;DR: Non-invasiveness, the absence of severe side effects and the possibility of administering it to outpatients at an affordable price make tDCS an important tool in clinical practice.

Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) in Unilateral Cerebral Palsy: A Pilot Study of Motor Effect.
TL;DR: The immediate effects, and their short-term persistence, of a single application of anodal tDCS on chronic upper limb motor disorders in children and young individuals with Unilateral Cerebral Palsy are explored for the first time.

Multisite transcranial Random Noise Stimulation (tRNS) modulates the distress network activity and oscillatory powers in subjects with chronic tinnitus.
TL;DR: It was shown that tRNS has modulatory effects on the electrical activity of the brain and that targeting prefrontal and auditory areas in sequence could modulate the distress network and multiple hubs in the tinnitus network.

TL;DR: Transcranial electrical stimulation using weak current may be a promising tool to modulate cerebral excitability in a non‐invasive, painless, reversible, selective and focal way.

TL;DR: Genome-wide analysis suggests that several genes that increase the risk for sporadic Alzheimer's disease encode factors that regulate glial clearance of misfolded proteins and the inflammatory reaction.

Publication bias in clinical research
TL;DR: The presence of publication bias in a cohort of clinical research studies is confirmed and it is suggested that conclusions based only on a review of published data should be interpreted cautiously, especially for observational studies.

Theory for the development of neuron selectivity: orientation specificity and binocular interaction in visual cortex
TL;DR: The development of stimulus selectivity in the primary sensory cortex of higher vertebrates is considered in a general mathematical framework and a synaptic evolution scheme of a new kind is proposed in which incoming patterns rather than converging afferents compete.

Drug Addiction and Its Underlying Neurobiological Basis: Neuroimaging Evidence for the Involvement of the Frontal Cortex
Rita Z. Goldstein,Nora D. Volkow +1 more
TL;DR: An integrated model of drug addiction that encompasses intoxication, bingeing, withdrawal, and craving is proposed, and results imply that addiction connotes cortically regulated cognitive and emotional processes, which result in the overvaluing of drug reinforcers, the undervalued of alternative rein forcers, and deficits in inhibitory control for drug responses.
