Pathways for energy conservation and emissions mitigation in road transport up to 2030: A case study of the Jing-Jin-Ji area, China

TL;DR: In this article, the authors applied the COPERT model to provide estimates of the regional fuel consumption and emissions to explore the mitigation potentials under six scenarios, and found that constraining vehicle registration is the most effective measure for reducing fuel consumption, CO 2, CO and VOC emissions, while strengthening vehicle emissions standards can achieve great reduction of NO X, PM 2.5 and SO 2 emissions.
Journal ArticleDOI

A high-resolution emissions inventory and its spatiotemporal pattern variations for heavy-duty diesel trucks in Beijing, China

TL;DR: In this paper, a bottom-up approach was used to explore the spatiotemporal distribution pattern of pollution emissions in the city of Beijing using multi-source spatio-temporal data on transportation, including fine-scale trajectories of heavy-duty diesel trucks, road traffic conditions, and attribute data for road networks and HDDTs.
Journal ArticleDOI

Development of a real-time two-stroke marine diesel engine model with in-cylinder pressure prediction capability

TL;DR: In this paper, the MG model and the merged diesel engine model are ameliorated by simplification and asychronization to improve the in-cylinder pressure calculation speed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Real-world gaseous emissions of high-mileage taxi fleets in China.

TL;DR: This study poses significant concerns regarding real-world emissions of high-mileage taxi fleets in China, which could consist of many gross emitters in the urban areas.
Journal ArticleDOI

A data-driven method of traffic emissions mapping with land use random forest models

- 01 Jan 2022 -
TL;DR: In this article , the authors used high-density traffic monitoring data and land use data to train random forest models capable of accurately predicting dynamic, link-level vehicle emissions, including road features, population density, and land usage information.

Bounding the role of black carbon in the climate system: A scientific assessment

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors provided an assessment of black-carbon climate forcing that is comprehensive in its inclusion of all known and relevant processes and that is quantitative in providing best estimates and uncertainties of the main forcing terms: direct solar absorption; influence on liquid, mixed phase, and ice clouds; and deposition on snow and ice.
Journal ArticleDOI

Strong radiative heating due to the mixing state of black carbon in atmospheric aerosols

TL;DR: Simulation of the evolution of the chemical composition of aerosols finds that the mixing state and direct forcing of the black-carbon component approach those of an internal mixture, largely due to coagulation and growth of aerosol particles.

Air pollution in mega cities in China

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present the current state of understanding of the air pollution problems in China's mega cities and identify the immediate challenges to understanding and controlling air pollution in these densely populated areas.
Journal ArticleDOI

Characteristics of PM 2.5 speciation in representative megacities and across China

TL;DR: Based on PM2.5 chemical data sets from literature and from surface observations, chemical species and reconstructed speciation of PM2.5 in representative Chinese megacities and across China were compared to draw insights into the characteristics of PM 2.5 speciation as mentioned in this paper.
