Abstract
Criteria for evaluating structural equation models with latent variables are defined, critiqued, and illustrated. An overall program for model evaluation is proposed based upon an interpretation of converging and diverging evidence. Model assessment is considered to be a complex process mixing statistical criteria with philosophical, historical, and theoretical elements. Inevitably the process entails some attempt at a reconcilation between so-called objective and subjective norms.

The mediating role of corporate image on customers’ retention decisions: an investigation in financial services

TL;DR: In this article, a conceptual framework is proposed that investigates the effects of customer satisfaction, service quality, and value on perceptions of corporate image and customer loyalty towards the service firm, and the results of the study indicate that satisfaction and service quality are positively related to value and that quality exerts a stronger influence on value than satisfaction.

Contribution behavior in virtual communities: cognitive, emotional, and social influences

TL;DR: It is shown that group norms and social identity contribute to the development of behavioral desires, which in turn influence the authors-intentions, and subjective norms are less effective than either group norms or social identity in encouraging contribution behavior.

The effects of brand credibility on customer loyalty

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the role of the brand in managing the churn of current customers of relational services and found that the credibility of a brand underlies the role that the brand can play in this process.

Empowered to lead: the role of psychological empowerment in leadership

TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined the relationship between psychological empowerment and leadership and found that supervisors who reported higher levels of empowerment were seen by their subordinates as more innovative, upward influencing, and inspirational.

Consumers' trust of salesperson and manufacturer: an empirical study

TL;DR: In this article, a positive model of consumers' trust of salesperson and manufacturer is developed which provides suggestions for improving relationships and increasing buyer-seller trust, indicating that buyer-sellers trust results from salesperson competence, low-pressure selling tactics, service quality, manufacturer ethical concern, and a general tendency to trust others.

Evaluating Structural Equation Models with Unobservable Variables and Measurement Error

TL;DR: In this paper, the statistical tests used in the analysis of structural equation models with unobservable variables and measurement error are examined, and a drawback of the commonly applied chi square test, in additit...

A new look at the statistical model identification

TL;DR: In this article, a new estimate minimum information theoretical criterion estimate (MAICE) is introduced for the purpose of statistical identification, which is free from the ambiguities inherent in the application of conventional hypothesis testing procedure.

Estimating the Dimension of a Model

TL;DR: In this paper, the problem of selecting one of a number of models of different dimensions is treated by finding its Bayes solution, and evaluating the leading terms of its asymptotic expansion.

Significance tests and goodness of fit in the analysis of covariance structures

TL;DR: In this article, a general null model based on modified independence among variables is proposed to provide an additional reference point for the statistical and scientific evaluation of covariance structure models, and the importance of supplementing statistical evaluation with incremental fit indices associated with the comparison of hierarchical models.
