Criteria for evaluating structural equation models with latent variables are defined, critiqued, and illustrated. An overall program for model evaluation is proposed based upon an interpretation of converging and diverging evidence. Model assessment is considered to be a complex process mixing statistical criteria with philosophical, historical, and theoretical elements. Inevitably the process entails some attempt at a reconcilation between so-called objective and subjective norms.read more

The assessment of school engagement: examining dimensionality and measurement invariance by gender and race/ethnicity.
TL;DR: It is concluded that school engagement was a multidimensional construct, with evidence to support the hypothesized second-order engagement factor structure with behavioral, emotional, and cognitive dimensions, using large-scale representative data on 1103 students in middle school.

Modeling Participation in an Online Travel Community
TL;DR: In this article, the relationship between member needs and their level of participation in an online travel community is examined; in addition, the effects of duration of membership on the level of participant participation and the role of demographic differences in terms of member need and participation are explored.

Pattern of information technology use: The impact on buyer–suppler coordination and performance
TL;DR: In this article, a model that relates the pattern of supplier use of IT to specific types of supply chain coordination activities and a comprehensive set of organizational benefits is proposed, and the authors evaluate how two patterns of IT use by suppliers (exploitation and exploration) relate to two specific type of coordination activities with their buyers (operational and strategic coordination).

What Keeps the E-Banking Customer Loyal? A Multigroup Analysis of the Moderating Role of Consumer Characteristics on E-Loyalty in the Financial Service Industry.
Arne Floh,Horst Treiblmaier +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the importance of antecedents of online loyalty such as trust, quality of the Web site, QoS and overall satisfaction was investigated, and the moderating role of consumer characteristics (gender, age, involvement, perceived risk and technophobia) was supported by the data.

New Product Design: Concept, Measurement, and Consequences
TL;DR: In this article, the authors define product design and its dimensions and investigate the impact of these design dimensions on purchase intention, word of mouth, and willingness to pay, finding that the design dimensions positively influence willingness to buy and also have a positive effect on product intention and word-of-mouth.

Evaluating Structural Equation Models with Unobservable Variables and Measurement Error
Claes Fornell,David F. Larcker +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the statistical tests used in the analysis of structural equation models with unobservable variables and measurement error are examined, and a drawback of the commonly applied chi square test, in additit...

A new look at the statistical model identification
TL;DR: In this article, a new estimate minimum information theoretical criterion estimate (MAICE) is introduced for the purpose of statistical identification, which is free from the ambiguities inherent in the application of conventional hypothesis testing procedure.

Estimating the Dimension of a Model
TL;DR: In this paper, the problem of selecting one of a number of models of different dimensions is treated by finding its Bayes solution, and evaluating the leading terms of its asymptotic expansion.

Significance tests and goodness of fit in the analysis of covariance structures
TL;DR: In this article, a general null model based on modified independence among variables is proposed to provide an additional reference point for the statistical and scientific evaluation of covariance structure models, and the importance of supplementing statistical evaluation with incremental fit indices associated with the comparison of hierarchical models.
