On the evaluation of structural equation models

TLDR
In this article, structural equation models with latent variables are defined, critiqued, and illustrated, and an overall program for model evaluation is proposed based upon an interpretation of converging and diverging evidence.
Abstract
Criteria for evaluating structural equation models with latent variables are defined, critiqued, and illustrated. An overall program for model evaluation is proposed based upon an interpretation of converging and diverging evidence. Model assessment is considered to be a complex process mixing statistical criteria with philosophical, historical, and theoretical elements. Inevitably the process entails some attempt at a reconcilation between so-called objective and subjective norms.

A Social Influence Model of Consumer Participation in Network- and Small-Group-Based Virtual Communities

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigate two key group-level determinants of virtual community participation, namely group norms and social identity, and consider their motivational antecedents and mediators.

Customer Value, Satisfaction, Loyalty, and Switching Costs: An Illustration From a Business-to-Business Service Context:

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors extend prior research by developing a conceptual framework linking all of these constructs in a business-to-business (B2B) service setting, and they hypothesize that customer satisfaction mediates the relationship between customer value and customer loyalty, and customer satisfaction and loyalty have significant reciprocal effects on each other.

Construction and Initial Validation of a Multidimensional Measure of Work–Family Conflict

TL;DR: In this article, the authors report on three studies that utilized five different samples (n = 1211) to construct and validate a multidimensional measure of work-family conflict.

Experiential value: Conceptualization, measurement and application in the catalog and Internet shopping environment.

TL;DR: In this paper, an experiential value scale (EVS) reflecting the benefits derived from perceptions of playfulness, aesthetics, customer "return on investment" and service excellence is developed and tested in the Internet and catalog shopping context.

Acceptance of blog usage: The roles of technology acceptance, social influence and knowledge sharing motivation

TL;DR: A model involving technology acceptance, knowledge sharing and social influences is developed based on the theory of reasoned action and indicated that ease of use and enjoyment, and knowledge sharing were positively related to attitude toward blogging, and accounted for 78% of the variance.

Estimating the Dimension of a Model

TL;DR: In this paper, the problem of selecting one of a number of models of different dimensions is treated by finding its Bayes solution, and evaluating the leading terms of its asymptotic expansion.

Significance tests and goodness of fit in the analysis of covariance structures

TL;DR: In this article, a general null model based on modified independence among variables is proposed to provide an additional reference point for the statistical and scientific evaluation of covariance structure models, and the importance of supplementing statistical evaluation with incremental fit indices associated with the comparison of hierarchical models.
