On the evaluation of structural equation models

TLDR
In this article, structural equation models with latent variables are defined, critiqued, and illustrated, and an overall program for model evaluation is proposed based upon an interpretation of converging and diverging evidence.
Abstract
Criteria for evaluating structural equation models with latent variables are defined, critiqued, and illustrated. An overall program for model evaluation is proposed based upon an interpretation of converging and diverging evidence. Model assessment is considered to be a complex process mixing statistical criteria with philosophical, historical, and theoretical elements. Inevitably the process entails some attempt at a reconcilation between so-called objective and subjective norms.

Global organizational learning capacity in purchasing: Construct and measurement

TL;DR: In this paper, a measure of organizational learning capacity (OLC) using the purchasing process of a Fortune 500 multinational corporation was developed and tested using a four-factor measurement model including team, systems, learning, and memory orientations.

Factors influencing online music purchase intention in Taiwan

TL;DR: The findings show that the perceived value of online music is a significant factor in predicting the purchaser intention of buying online music in Taiwan.

Perceived value, satisfaction, and loyalty of TV travel product shopping: Involvement as a moderator

TL;DR: The findings reveal that in general only the effect of perceived value, but not satisfaction, on loyalty is supported, and the consumer product involvement shows its moderating effects on the value–satisfaction–loyalty model.

The influence of computer self-efficacy, metacognitive self-regulation and self-esteem on student engagement in online learning programs: Evidence from the virtual world of Second Life

TL;DR: The results from the three-step hierarchical regression analysis revealed that computer self-efficacy, metacognitive self-regulation, and self-esteem in online courses were not only positively correlated with student’s cognitive and emotional engagement factors, but were also negatively correlated with behavioral factors.

Chain liability in multitier supply chains? Responsibility attributions for unsustainable supplier behavior

TL;DR: In this paper, the chain liability effect increases if an environmental degradation incident results from supplier behavior rather than force majeure, results from a company decision rather than the decision of an individual employee, and is more severe.

Evaluating Structural Equation Models with Unobservable Variables and Measurement Error

TL;DR: In this paper, the statistical tests used in the analysis of structural equation models with unobservable variables and measurement error are examined, and a drawback of the commonly applied chi square test, in additit...

A new look at the statistical model identification

TL;DR: In this article, a new estimate minimum information theoretical criterion estimate (MAICE) is introduced for the purpose of statistical identification, which is free from the ambiguities inherent in the application of conventional hypothesis testing procedure.

Estimating the Dimension of a Model

TL;DR: In this paper, the problem of selecting one of a number of models of different dimensions is treated by finding its Bayes solution, and evaluating the leading terms of its asymptotic expansion.

Significance tests and goodness of fit in the analysis of covariance structures

TL;DR: In this article, a general null model based on modified independence among variables is proposed to provide an additional reference point for the statistical and scientific evaluation of covariance structure models, and the importance of supplementing statistical evaluation with incremental fit indices associated with the comparison of hierarchical models.
