Abstract
Criteria for evaluating structural equation models with latent variables are defined, critiqued, and illustrated. An overall program for model evaluation is proposed based upon an interpretation of converging and diverging evidence. Model assessment is considered to be a complex process mixing statistical criteria with philosophical, historical, and theoretical elements. Inevitably the process entails some attempt at a reconcilation between so-called objective and subjective norms.

An examination of moderator effects in the four-stage loyalty model

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors analyzed the moderating effects of selected personal and situational characteristics, using a sample of 888 customers of a large do-it-yourself retailer, and found that these moderators exert an influence on the development of the different stages of the loyalty sequence.

Predicting online grocery buying intention: a comparison of the theory of reasoned action and the theory of planned behavior

TL;DR: Results suggest that the theory of planned behavior (with the inclusion of a path from subjective norm to attitude) provides the best fit to the data and explains the highest proportion of variation in online grocery buying intention.

Explaining IJV survival in a transitional economy through social exchange and knowledge-based perspectives

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors combine social exchange and knowledge-based perspectives to develop a general path model of IJV survival, and they further refine their expectations by considering the transitional economic context of their study and the somewhat unique managerial values resulting from the legacy of Marxist ideology.

Managing marketing channel opportunism: The efficacy of alternative governance mechanisms

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined three governance mechanisms according to how well they mitigate opportunism in marketing channels, including ownership, investment in transaction-specific assets, and norms of relational exchange.

Consumer trust in e-commerce in the United States, Singapore and China

TL;DR: In this article, the antecedents and consequences of consumer trust in the United States, Singapore and China were examined and it was shown that reputation and system assurance of an Internet vendor and consumers propensity to trust are positively related to consumer trust.

Evaluating Structural Equation Models with Unobservable Variables and Measurement Error

TL;DR: In this paper, the statistical tests used in the analysis of structural equation models with unobservable variables and measurement error are examined, and a drawback of the commonly applied chi square test, in additit...

A new look at the statistical model identification

TL;DR: In this article, a new estimate minimum information theoretical criterion estimate (MAICE) is introduced for the purpose of statistical identification, which is free from the ambiguities inherent in the application of conventional hypothesis testing procedure.

Estimating the Dimension of a Model

TL;DR: In this paper, the problem of selecting one of a number of models of different dimensions is treated by finding its Bayes solution, and evaluating the leading terms of its asymptotic expansion.

Significance tests and goodness of fit in the analysis of covariance structures

TL;DR: In this article, a general null model based on modified independence among variables is proposed to provide an additional reference point for the statistical and scientific evaluation of covariance structure models, and the importance of supplementing statistical evaluation with incremental fit indices associated with the comparison of hierarchical models.
