On the evaluation of structural equation models

TLDR
In this article, structural equation models with latent variables are defined, critiqued, and illustrated, and an overall program for model evaluation is proposed based upon an interpretation of converging and diverging evidence.
Abstract
Criteria for evaluating structural equation models with latent variables are defined, critiqued, and illustrated. An overall program for model evaluation is proposed based upon an interpretation of converging and diverging evidence. Model assessment is considered to be a complex process mixing statistical criteria with philosophical, historical, and theoretical elements. Inevitably the process entails some attempt at a reconcilation between so-called objective and subjective norms.

Consumers' evaluations of ecological packaging – Rational and emotional approaches

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated consumers' emotional and rational evaluations of pro-environmental packaging and found that both positive and negative emotions had significant direct effects on purchase intention and added new knowledge about the role of negative emotions evoked by green packaging.

Dealing with Institutional Distances in International Marketing Channels: Governance Strategies That Engender Legitimacy and Efficiency

TL;DR: In this article, the authors argue that firms can design governance strategies to deal with foreign institutions to secure both social acceptance and firm performance, using a Chinese sample of manufacturers that export products to various foreign markets through local distributors, and they develop and test a model that bridges the effects of institutional environments and governance strategy on channel performance.

Motivating purchase of private brands: Effects of store image, product signatureness, and quality variation

TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined the effects of intangible extrinsic cues on consumer quality perception and purchase intention of private brands and found that store image and product signatureness enhance quality perception, while quality variation reduces both outcomes.

Mobile shopping apps adoption and perceived risks: A cross-country perspective utilizing the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology

TL;DR: This study applies the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology 2 to investigate factors predicting consumer behavioral intention and use behavior towards mobile shopping apps, suggesting that privacy and security moderate intention to use differently across cultures as predicted by the CMSI.

A new look at the statistical model identification

TL;DR: In this article, a new estimate minimum information theoretical criterion estimate (MAICE) is introduced for the purpose of statistical identification, which is free from the ambiguities inherent in the application of conventional hypothesis testing procedure.

Estimating the Dimension of a Model

TL;DR: In this paper, the problem of selecting one of a number of models of different dimensions is treated by finding its Bayes solution, and evaluating the leading terms of its asymptotic expansion.

Significance tests and goodness of fit in the analysis of covariance structures

TL;DR: In this article, a general null model based on modified independence among variables is proposed to provide an additional reference point for the statistical and scientific evaluation of covariance structure models, and the importance of supplementing statistical evaluation with incremental fit indices associated with the comparison of hierarchical models.
