Criteria for evaluating structural equation models with latent variables are defined, critiqued, and illustrated. An overall program for model evaluation is proposed based upon an interpretation of converging and diverging evidence. Model assessment is considered to be a complex process mixing statistical criteria with philosophical, historical, and theoretical elements. Inevitably the process entails some attempt at a reconcilation between so-called objective and subjective norms.read more

The Relationship between Job and Life Satisfaction: Evidence from a Remote Mining Community
TL;DR: The LISREL results, based on a sample of 286 male employees from an open-cut coal mine in remote central Queensland, Australia, indicate that the community variables of family isolation and kinship support have the largest total (direct and indirect) effects on life satisfaction.

How to repair customer trust after negative publicity: The roles of competence, integrity, benevolence, and forgiveness
Yi Xie,Siqing Peng +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors examine corporate informational, affective, and functional initiatives managers take to influence three trustworthiness factors (competence, benevolence, and integrity) and to elicit forgiveness.

Resources and capabilities as drivers of hotel environmental marketing strategy: Implications for competitive advantage and performance
TL;DR: In this article, the authors developed a model of drivers and outcomes of environmentally friendly marketing strategies in the Greek hotel sector and found that the effect of environmental marketing strategy on competitive advantage is stronger in the case of intense competitive situations, while market dynamism has no moderating effect on this association.

Exploring the intention–behavior link in student entrepreneurship: Moderating effects of individual and environmental characteristics
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors scrutinize the intention-action gap among student entrepreneurs, attributing it to the contextual factors, i.e., individual (family entrepreneurial background, age, gender) and environmental characteristics (university environment, uncertainty avoidance), affecting the translation of entrepreneurial intentions into entrepreneurial actions.

An empirical study of instructor adoption of web-based learning systems
Wei-Tsong Wang,Chun-Chieh Wang +1 more
TL;DR: This study develops an integrated model of instructor adoption of web-based learning systems by incorporating existing literature and multiple empirically verified theories, including the technology acceptance model and DeLone and McLean's information system success model.

A new look at the statistical model identification
TL;DR: In this article, a new estimate minimum information theoretical criterion estimate (MAICE) is introduced for the purpose of statistical identification, which is free from the ambiguities inherent in the application of conventional hypothesis testing procedure.

Estimating the Dimension of a Model
TL;DR: In this paper, the problem of selecting one of a number of models of different dimensions is treated by finding its Bayes solution, and evaluating the leading terms of its asymptotic expansion.

Significance tests and goodness of fit in the analysis of covariance structures
TL;DR: In this article, a general null model based on modified independence among variables is proposed to provide an additional reference point for the statistical and scientific evaluation of covariance structure models, and the importance of supplementing statistical evaluation with incremental fit indices associated with the comparison of hierarchical models.
