The silicon microstrip sensors of the ATLAS semiconductor tracker

TLDR
In this article, the AC-coupled, single-sided, p-in-n silicon microstrip sensors used in the Semiconductor Tracker (SCT) of the ATLAS experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) were described.
Abstract
This paper describes the AC-coupled, single-sided, p-in-n silicon microstrip sensors used in the Semiconductor Tracker (SCT) of the ATLAS experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) The sensor requirements, specifications and designs are discussed, together with the qualification and quality assurance procedures adopted for their production The measured sensor performance is presented, both initially and after irradiation to the fluence anticipated after 10 years of LHC operation The sensors are now successfully assembled within the detecting modules of the SCT, and the SCT tracker is completed and integrated within the ATLAS Inner Detector Hamamatsu Photonics Ltd supplied 922percent of the 15,392 installed sensors, with the remainder supplied by CiS

The search for new physics in the diphoton decay channel and the upgrade of the Tile-Calorimeter electronics of the ATLAS detector.

TL;DR: In this article, three different final state searches, linked by the new Higgs boson hypothesis, are presented, i.e., hh → γγbb̄, hh + E T and high mass diphoton channels.

Charge collection studies of heavily irradiated 3D double-sided sensors

TL;DR: In this article, a 3D photodiode detector with double-sided geometry has been fabricated as very short strip detectors with the same inter-column spacing as proposed for the ATLAS pixel detector upgrade and irradiated to a fluence of 2 × 1016 cm−2 1 MeV equivalent neutrons.

Search for long-lived, massive particles decaying into dimuon vertices in pp collisions at 13 TeV with the ATLAS detector at the LHC

TL;DR: In this paper, a search for long-lived, massive particles decaying into dimuon pairs, in 32.9 fb 1 of data analyzed from the ATLAS detector is presented, and 95% confidence level (CL) upper limits on the signal cross sections times branching fraction are set as a function of c⌧ for both benchmark models.
