TL;DR: This Review compiles the significant achievements made in this field of both meta- and para-selectivity using covalently attached directing groups, which are systematically classified on the basis of their mode of covalent attachment to the substrate as well as their chemical nature.
Abstract: Directing group assisted ortho-C-H activation has been known for the last few decades. In contrast, extending the same approach to achieve activation of the distal meta- and para-C-H bonds in aromatic molecules remained elusive for a long time. The main challenge is the conception of a macrocyclic transition state, which is needed to anchor the metal catalyst close to the target bond. Judicious modification of the chain length, the tether linkage, and the nature of the catalyst-coordinating donor atom has led to a number of successful studies in the last few years. This Review compiles the significant achievements made in this field of both meta- and para-selectivity using covalently attached directing groups, which are systematically classified on the basis of their mode of covalent attachment to the substrate as well as their chemical nature. This Review aims to create a more heuristic approach for recognizing the suitability of the directing groups for use in future organic transformations.

TL;DR: A novel methodology based on vector arithmetic is proposed which not only addresses those anomalies but also leads to some interesting theories and algorithms to tackle the above mentioned three functionalities required in managing resources of data centers.
Abstract: In this paper, we present the methodologies used in existing literature for Virtual Machine (VM) placement, load balancing and server consolidation in a data center environment. While the methodologies may seem fine on the surface, certain drawbacks and anomalies can be uncovered when they are analyzed deeper. We point out those anomalies and draw backs in the existing literature and explain what are the root causes of such anomalies. Then we propose a novel methodology based on vector arithmetic which not only addresses those anomalies but also leads to some interesting theories and algorithms to tackle the above mentioned three functionalities required in managing resources of data centers. We believe that with a strong mathematical base, our methodology has the potential to become the foundation of future models and algorithms in this research area.

TL;DR: A simple 3-layered feed forward type of network is developed and shows that an appropriately trained network could provide satisfactory results in open wider areas, in deep water and also when the sampling and prediction interval is large, such as a week.

TL;DR: In this paper, the critical design criteria of Hf0.5Zr 0.5O2 (HZO)-based ferroelectric field effect transistor (FeFET) for nonvolatile memory application were established.
Abstract: We fabricate, characterize, and establish the critical design criteria of Hf0.5Zr0.5O2 (HZO)-based ferroelectric field effect transistor (FeFET) for nonvolatile memory application. We quantify ${V}_{\textsf {TH}}$ shift from electron (hole) trapping in the vicinity of ferroelectric (FE)/interlayer (IL) interface, induced by erase (program) pulse, and ${V}_{\textsf {TH}}$ shift from polarization switching to determine true memory window (MW). The devices exhibit extrapolated retention up to 10 years at 85 °C and endurance up to $5\times 10^{6}$ cycles initiated by the IL breakdown. Endurance up to 1012 cycles of partial polarization switching is shown in metal–FE–metal capacitor, in the absence of IL. A comprehensive metal–FE–insulator–semiconductor FeFET model is developed to quantify the electric field distribution in the gate-stack, and an IL design guideline is established to markedly enhance MW, retention characteristics, and cycling endurance.

TL;DR: The present study reports biologically oriented process for green synthesis of CuO nanoparticles by using eco-friendly and non-toxic Aloe vera leaf extract with enhanced antibacterial activity against all the fish pathogens even at lower concentrations, i.e. above 20 μg/mL.
Abstract: The present study reports biologically oriented process for green synthesis of CuO nanoparticles by using eco-friendly and non-toxic Aloe vera leaf extract. Powder X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscope analysis revealed that synthesized CuO nanoparticles are in monoclinic phase with average particle size of 20 nm. The antibacterial activity of green synthesized CuO nanoparticles was tested against three bacterial fish pathogens “viz:” Aeromonas hydrophila, Pseudomonas fluorescens and Flavobacterium branchiophilum, which are responsible for causing severe infectious diseases in fishes. CuO NPs exhibits enhanced antibacterial activity against all the fish pathogens even at lower concentrations, i.e. above 20 μg/mL.
