18 Jul 1980TL;DR: In this article, a process for increasing gasoline octane number and/or total gasoline yield in catalytic cracking units by the addition of a very small amount of finely divided shape selective additive promoter is provided.
Abstract: A process is provided for increasing gasoline octane number and/or total gasoline yield in catalytic cracking units by the addition of a very small amount of finely divided shape selective additive promoter, which additive promoter is not intimately combined with a substantial amount of another solid prior to contact with the cracking catalyst. The additive promoter, in one embodiment, is a crystalline aluminosilicate zeolite having a silica to alumina mole ratio greater than about 12 and a constraint index within the approximate range of 1 to 12.

10 Apr 1990TL;DR: In this paper, a process and apparatus for fluidized catalytic cracking of heavy oils is described using a modified high efficiency catalyst regenerator. Butts et al. describe a fast fluidized bed coke combustor, which is essentially free of gas/catalyst separation means, partially regenerates catalyst and discharges a steam laden flue gas and catalyst into a dilute phase transport riser.
Abstract: A process and apparatus for fluidized catalytic cracking of heavy oils is disclosed using a modified high efficiency catalyst regenerator. A fast fluidized bed coke combustor, which is essentially free of gas/catalyst separation means, partially regenerates catalyst and discharges a steam laden flue gas and catalyst into a dilute phase transport riser. Closed cyclones separate catalyst from steam laden flue gas exiting the transport riser outlet. This flue gas is isolated from a second fluidized bed of catalyst maintained in a vessel containing the transport riser and closed cyclones. Coke combustion in the drier region of the second fluidized bed is possible. Catalyst deactivates less in the second fluidized bed because it is drier.

20 Mar 1990TL;DR: In this article, the gaseous mixture is passed through a chilling train having a series of dephlegmator-type exchange units (20, 24) to condense liquid rich in ethene and thane, while separating a major portion of methane and lighter gas.
Abstract: In a cryogenic technique for recovering ethene from a gaseous mixture containing methane, ethane, and ethene, the gaseous mixture is passed through a chilling train having a series of dephlegmator-type exchange units (20, 24) to condense liquid rich in ethene and thane, while separating a major portion of methane and lighter gas. A multizone demethanizer (30, 34) removes condensed methane from the C2 fraction to provide a pure product economically.

24 Apr 1980TL;DR: In this paper, a process for the treatment of highly olefinic gasoline containing at least about 50% by weight of olefins by contacting said ole finic gasoline with a special group of acidic crystalline aluminosilicate zeolites, such as those of the ZSM-5 type in order to enhance the gum stability of said gasoline and produce products comprising both gasoline and fuel oil.
