24 Dec 1986TL;DR: In this article, a process for sequentially fracturing a subterranean formation containing desired natural resources in which controlled pulse fracturing (CPF) is combined with hydraulic fracturing in the same wellbore is described.
Abstract: A process for sequentially fracturing a subterranean formation containing desired natural resources in which controlled pulse fracturing (CPF) is combined with hydraulic fracturing in the same wellbore. After multiple radial vertical fractures have been created by CPF, a solidifiable gel material is directed into the created fractures during a subsequent hydraulic fracturing procedure. During this procedure, multiple vertical hydraulic fractures initiate in and propagate away from the CPF created fractures thereby bringing the wellbore into communication with the desired natural resources.

07 Sep 1976TL;DR: In this article, a method and sequence of process steps are described for effecting the conversion of lower alcohols comprising methanol, ethanol and propanol to gasoline boiling range component arranged to significantly extract reaction heat and selectively control the restricting of the alcohol feed through the production of ethers and olefins prior to isomerizing and aromatizing the formed olefin.
Abstract: A method and sequence of process steps is described for effecting the conversion of lower alcohols comprising methanol, ethanol and propanol to gasoline boiling range component arranged to significantly extract reaction heat and selectively control the restricting of the alcohol feed through the production of ethers and olefins prior to isomerizing and aromatizing the formed olefins. A tubular reactor section is particularly relied upon for the highly exothermic olefin forming step of the combination operation.

30 Jul 1979TL;DR: In this paper, the individual cells of the array are sandwiched and held resiliently captive between and electrically isolated from a transparent protective front cover and a protective rear substrate by an encapsulating transparent silicone elastomer cast in situ in the interstices between the cover, the cells, and the substrate.
Abstract: Solar cell array and method for manufacturing same wherein the individual cells of the array are sandwiched and held resiliently captive between and electrically isolated from a transparent protective front cover and a protective rear substrate by an encapsulating transparent silicone elastomer cast in situ in the interstices between the cover, the cells, and the substrate, the elastomer being introduced, while fluid, into the sandwich through the same terminals used for the electrical connection of the array to its electrical load.

28 Nov 1980TL;DR: In this article, a deviated borehole is drilled with a rotary drilling technique in which the drill string is vibrated at a suitable frequency and amplitude to reduce the friction of drill string against the lower side of the borehole and to promote the free movement of the string therein.
