TL;DR: In this article, a heavy aromatics feed is converted to lighter aromatics products by contacting a C9 + aromatics fraction and benzene and/or toluene over a catalyst comprising a zeolite, such as ZSM-12 and a hydrogenation component, preferably platinum.
Abstract: A heavy aromatics feed is converted to lighter aromatics products, such as benzene, toluene and xylenes by contacting a C9 + aromatics fraction and benzene and/or toluene over a catalyst comprising a zeolite, such as ZSM-12, and a hydrogenation component, preferably platinum The catalyst, complete with hydrogenation component, is treated to reduce aromatics loss Treatment includes exposure to steam and/or sulfur after incorporation of the hydrogenation component For additional stability and aromatics retention the steamed and/or sulfur treated catalyst is sulfided by cofeeding a source of sulfur In a further embodiment of the invention a low hydrogen partial pressure is employed to retain aromatics

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that the rate-controlling step in the replacement of Na+ by the La3+ ions in the small cages is the stripping of water from the rare earth ions in large cages.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe a technique of providing a wellbore that is extended along a track from the surface of the earth and penetrates and passes through a subsurface mineral-bearing formation a plurality of times.
Abstract: This specification discloses a technique of providing a wellbore that is extended along a track from the surface of the earth and penetrates and passes through a subsurface mineral-bearing formation a plurality of times. The wellbore is initially extended from the surface of the earth into the earth's crust in essentially a vertical direction and then is deviated toward the horizontal and extended to pass through the subsurface mineral-bearing formation from top to bottom at an oblique angle. The wellbore is then further deviated and extended along a track in an upwardly direction such that it again penetrates and passes through the subsurface mineral-bearing formation, this time from bottom to top. The wellbore may then again be deviated and extended along a downward track to again penetrate the formation from the top.

TL;DR: In this paper, the frequency at which coherent noise resides within the frequency-distance domain is determined by filtering, and the wavenumber-filtered domain is then transformed back into a time-distance array of seismic traces.
Abstract: In seismic exploration, seismic reflections from subsurface formations are recorded in the form of a time-distance array of seismic traces. This array is transformed into a frequency-distance domain. Frequencies at which coherent noise resides within the frequency-distance domain are determined. Wavenumbers corresponding to such frequenices are removed by filtering. The wavenumber-filtered, frequency-distance domain of seismic traces are then transformed back into a time-distance array of seismic traces.

TL;DR: In this article, a process for converting oxygenated feedstock comprising methanol, dimethyl ether or the like to liquid hydrocarbons comprising the steps of contacting the feedstock with zeolite catalyst in a primary catalyst stage at elevated temperature and moderate pressure, cooling and separating effluent from the primary stage to recover a liquid hydrocarbon stream and a light hydrocarbon vapor stream rich in C2 -C4 olefins.
Abstract: A process for converting oxygenated feedstock comprising methanol, dimethyl ether or the like to liquid hydrocarbons comprising the steps of contacting the feedstock with zeolite catalyst in a primary catalyst stage at elevated temperature and moderate pressure to convert feedstock to hydrocarbons comprising C2 -C4 olefins and C5 + hydrocarbons; cooling and separating effluent from the primary stage to recover a liquid hydrocarbon stream and a light hydrocarbon vapor stream rich in C2 -C4 olefins; compressing the olefinic light hydrocarbon stream to condense a liquid olefinic hydrocarbon stream rich in C3 + olefins and recovering an ethene-rich gaseous stream; further pressurizing and contacting the condensed liquid olefinic hydrocarbon stream in a secondary catalytic stage with oligomerization catalyst comprising medium-pore shape selective acidic zeolite at substantially increased pressure and moderate temperature to convert at least a portion of olefins to a heavier liquid hydrocarbon product stream comprising olefinic gasoline and distillate range liquids; and recovering ethene in a gaseous stream for recycle to the primary catalytic stage.
