TL;DR: An approach that enables the rapid sequencing of large numbers of orthologous nuclear loci to facilitate efficient phylogenomic analyses and the successful reconstruction of known phylogenetic relationships across the Compositae is described.
Abstract: Premise of the study: The Compositae (Asteraceae) are a large and diverse family of plants, and the most comprehensive phylogeny to date is a meta-tree based on 10 chloroplast loci that has several major unresolved nodes. We describe the development of an approach that enables the rapid sequencing of large numbers of orthologous nuclear loci to facilitate efficient phylogenomic analyses. Methods and Results: We designed a set of sequence capture probes that target conserved orthologous sequences in the Compositae. We also developed a bioinformatic and phylogenetic workflow for processing and analyzing the resulting data. Application of our approach to 15 species from across the Compositae resulted in the production of phylogenetically informative sequence data from 763 loci and the successful reconstruction of known phylogenetic relationships across the family. Conclusions: These methods should be of great use to members of the broader Compositae community, and the general approach should also be of use t...

TL;DR: The Contour Test appears to offer a viable approach to clinical measurement of loudness perception: It has good patient acceptance and combines fairly rapid administration with acceptable reliability, and can be used to construct a template for clinical comparison of normative values to patient loudness growth curves.
Abstract: Objective:This article presents the underlying rationale, normative data, and reliability data for a test of loudness perception (the Contour Test) that was devised for use in clinical hearing aid fitting. The Contour Test yields data describing the sound level required for each of seven categories

TL;DR: This paper proposes the first efficient and secure encrypted EMRs deduplication scheme for cloud-assisted eHealth systems (HealthDep), and shows that HealthDep provides a stronger security guarantee than Marforio et al.'s scheme (NDSS 2014) and Bellare et-al.
Abstract: In this paper, we analyze the inherent characteristic of electronic medical records (EMRs) from actual electronic health (eHealth) systems, where we found that first, multiple patients would generate large amounts of duplicate EMRs and second, cross-patient duplicate EMRs would be generated numerously only in the case that the patients consult doctors in the same department. We then propose the first efficient and secure encrypted EMRs deduplication scheme for cloud-assisted eHealth systems (HealthDep). With the integration of our analysis results, HealthDep allows the cloud server to efficiently perform the EMRs deduplication, and enables the cloud server to reduce storage costs by more than 65% while ensuring the confidentiality of EMRs. Security analysis shows that HealthDep provides a stronger security guarantee than Marforio et al. 's scheme (NDSS 2014) and Bellare et al. 's scheme (USENIX Security 2013). Algorithm implementation and performance analysis demonstrate the feasibility and high efficiency of HealthDep.

TL;DR: In this paper, a survey of over 200 organizations was conducted to determine their relative use of tactics and organizational performance Factor analysis and regression analyses were used to identify tactics that were strongly related to organizational performance Examples of implementation are presented to illustrate use of the critical tactics.
Abstract: Purpose – To identify and cite examples of critical tactics for implementing Porter's generic strategiesDesign/methodology/approach – A survey of over 200 organizations was conducted to determine their relative use of tactics and organizational performance Factor analysis and regression analyses were used to identify tactics that were strongly related to organizational performance Examples of implementation are presented to illustrate use of the critical tacticsFindings – A list of ten tactics were identified as significantly related with the generic strategies and higher levels of organizational performanceResearch limitations/implications – As is typical with survey research, the convenience sample of organizations used in this survey may or may not be representative of all organizations Also, when using regression analysis it is important to keep in mind that correlation does not necessarily mean causation Therefore we are not certain that the significant tactics caused the higher levels of orga
