TL;DR: The free weighting matrix (FWM) method is adopted to give a D-D stability condition by a linear matrix inequality (LMI) and it is proved that the expectation of the particular SCT is equal to the expectations of a Lebesgue integral.
Abstract: The delay-dependent (D-D) stability problem is investigated for stochastic time-delay systems (STDSs) involving the Poisson process in this paper. Firstly, semi-martingale theory is conducted to tackle the jump information of Ito formula properly. Secondly, this paper studies the expectations of stochastic cross terms (SCTs) containing Poisson-type stochastic integrals (SIs), and proves that the expectation of the particular SCT is equal to the expectation of a Lebesgue integral. Thirdly, on the basis of the above results, this paper adopts the free weighting matrix (FWM) method to give a D-D stability condition by a linear matrix inequality (LMI). In the derivation, no bounding technique is used, and then the conservatism arising from the common bounding technique is avoided. Finally, an example is presented to show the effectiveness of the derived D-D stability condition.

TL;DR: A security authentication method is designed based on fractal and visual cryptography based on the discrete fractal Brownian random field model that is effective against common attacks such as JPEG compression, scaling, rotation operation, clipping, added noise, filtering, and blurring.
Abstract: In this paper, we aimed to discuss the security authentication requirements of medical images in the medical network, and a security authentication method is designed based on fractal and visual cryptography. Based on the discrete fractal Brownian random field model, the gray-level statistical information and spatial structure information of medical images is fully mined. The gray distribution of medical images is expressed in the form of fractal features. By using the spatial data mining methods, the data of fractal structure space is analyzed, and by using the stability of the energy structure, the authentication features are formed. Using the visual cryptography (VC), the robustness of the authentication method is further enhanced. Through the centralized test of common medical images and the comparison analysis with existing methods, it is further verified that the method is effective against common attacks such as JPEG compression, scaling, rotation operation, clipping, added noise, filtering, and blurring.

TL;DR: The results showed the benefits of solid-liquid separation of dairy manure on process performance and digestate characteristics, including methane yields obtained from screened manure and the effect on digestate fertilizer characteristics.
Abstract: The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of solid-liquid separation on anaerobic digestion of dairy manure in semi-continuous stirred tank reactors. Reactors fed with liquid fraction of dairy manure (screened liquid manure) were kept in water baths at mesophilic (Run 1) and thermophilic (Run 3) temperatures, respectively, while reactors fed with water diluted manure and kept at mesophilic (Run 2) and thermophilic (Run 4) temperatures as control reactors. The performances of reactors were compared in terms of biogas and methane production, and digestate characteristics. The methane yields obtained from screened manure were higher than those from diluted manure at both mesophilic and thermophilic temperatures, while the highest methane yield was 185 L/kg VSadded under thermophilic temperature. Solid-liquid separation also had improved the effect on digestate fertilizer characteristics. Among four digestates from reactors, the highest contents of nutrients, N (4.12 g/kg) and P (2.36 g/kg) were found in Run 3, while the highest content of K (3.42 g/kg) was found in Run 1. These results showed the benefits of solid-liquid separation of dairy manure on process performance and digestate characteristics.

TL;DR: Results confirm that filamentous bamboo can be used as an alternative to inert biocarriers in WRRF secondary effluent treatment systems.
Abstract: Solid-phase denitrification technology can potentially be used to remove nitrogen compounds, such as total nitrogen and nitrate nitrogen (NO3(-)-N), from wastewater. In this study, the authors made use of an internal-circulation baffled biofilm reactor in which filamentous bamboo acted as a biocarrier for the removal of nitrogen (N) from water resource recovery facility (WRRF) secondary effluent. A laboratory-scale experiment was conducted to assess the efficacy and mechanisms of N removal from the WRRF secondary effluent operated in continuous-flow mode. Results indicated that total nitrogen and NO3(-)-N removal rates reached 66.58 to 75.23% and 75.6 to 85.6%, respectively. Infrared spectrum analysis indicated biodegradation in the filamentous bamboo. A comparison of this method with the use of filamentous plastics as biocarriers indicated that higher NO3(-)-N removal (as volumetric loading) and lower nitrite nitrogen accumulation rates were obtained when filamentous bamboo was used as a biocarrier. A NO3(-)-N removal volumetric loading of 2.09 mg/L·h was reached when using bamboo as a single solid carbon source. These results confirm that filamentous bamboo can be used as an alternative to inert biocarriers in WRRF secondary effluent treatment systems.
