A cellular automaton model for freeway traffic
Kai Nagel,Michael Schreckenberg +1 more
TLDR
A stochastic discrete automaton model is introduced to simulate freeway traffic and shows a transition from laminar traffic flow to start-stop- waves with increasing vehicle density, as is observed in real freeway traffic.Abstract:
We introduce a stochastic discrete automaton model to simulate freeway traffic. Monte-Carlo simulations of the model show a transition from laminar traffic flow to start-stop- waves with increasing vehicle density, as is observed in real freeway traffic. For special cases analytical results can be obtained.read more

Analysis of driver’s characteristics on a curved road in a lattice model
Ramanpreet Kaur,Sapna Sharma +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of driver's behavior on the curved road via lattice hydrodynamic approach was investigated theoretically by the means of linear stability analysis and the effects of curved road and intensity of influence of influence on the traffic flow stability was examined.

Evaluation of Cellular Automata for Traffic Flow Simulation on Freeway and Urban Streets
Werner Brilon,N. Wu +1 more
TL;DR: A completely new concept for the cellular automaton principle to model highway traffic flow using a time-oriented car-following model that accounts for the real driving behavior more precisely than the model from Nagel and Schreckenberg.

The Bethe ansatz as a matrix product ansatz
TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the eigenfunctions of all the exact integrable quantum chains can also be expressed by a matrix product ansatz, which is a common tool for the exact solution of one-dimensional quantum Hamiltonians.
