A cellular automaton model for freeway traffic
Kai Nagel,Michael Schreckenberg +1 more
TLDR
A stochastic discrete automaton model is introduced to simulate freeway traffic and shows a transition from laminar traffic flow to start-stop- waves with increasing vehicle density, as is observed in real freeway traffic.Abstract:
We introduce a stochastic discrete automaton model to simulate freeway traffic. Monte-Carlo simulations of the model show a transition from laminar traffic flow to start-stop- waves with increasing vehicle density, as is observed in real freeway traffic. For special cases analytical results can be obtained.read more

Analysis of the environmental impacts of unloading bays based on cellular automata simulation
Stanisław Iwan,Kinga Kijewska,Bjørn Gjerde Johansen,Olav Eidhammer,Krzysztof Małecki,Wojciech Konicki,Russell G. Thompson +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, a scenario-based approach and cellular automata simulation is used to predict the benefits of unloading bays in terms of traffic flow and emissions in Szczecin and Oslo.

A multi-lane TASEP model for crossing pedestrian traffic flows
TL;DR: In this article, a one-way street of width M × M is modeled as a set of M parallel one-dimensional TASEPs, where hard core particles entering each street with an injection probability α are considered.

Effects of prediction feedback in multi-route intelligent traffic systems ☆
TL;DR: This paper studies the influence of an efficient feedback strategy named the prediction feedback strategy (PFS) based on a multi-route scenario in which dynamic information can be generated and displayed on the board to guide road users to make a choice.
