Journal ArticleDOI

Zinc release from atomic layer deposited zinc oxide thin films and its antibacterial effect on Escherichia coli

TL;DR: In this paper, the antibacterial effect of ZnO films has been examined in water and in phosphate buffered saline solution (PBS), and the results indicated that photo-irradiation is not required for to enhance antibacterial properties of inorganic films and that the elution of zinc ions is probably responsible for the zinc properties.
Journal ArticleDOI

Search for the Higgs boson in the H→WW→lνjj decay channel in pp collisions at √s=7TeV with the ATLAS detector

Georges Aad, +3053 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a search for a Higgs boson has been performed in the H -> WW -> l nu jj channel in 1.04 fb(-1) of pp collision data at root s = 7 TeV recorded with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider.
Journal ArticleDOI

Drift Time Measurement in the ATLAS Liquid Argon Electromagnetic Calorimeter using Cosmic Muons

Georges Aad, +2856 more
TL;DR: In this article, the ionization signals in the liquid argon of the ATLAS electromagnetic calorimeter are studied in detail using cosmic muons, and the drift time of the ionisation electrons is measured and used to assess the intrinsic uniformity of the CALorimeter gaps and estimate its impact on the constant term of the energy resolution.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comparison of Fragmentation Functions for Jets Dominated by Light Quarks and Gluons from pp and Pb+Pb Collisions in ATLAS

Morad Aaboud, +2925 more
TL;DR: Charged-particle fragmentation functions for jets azimuthally balanced by a high-transverse-momentum, prompt, isolated photon are measured to explore the parton color-charge dependence of jet quenching in the hot medium.
Journal ArticleDOI

Search for triboson W±W±W∓ production in pp collisions at √s = 8 TeV with the ATLAS detector

Morad Aaboud, +2861 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a search for triboson production in two decay channels was carried out in the Large Hadron Collider with an expected upper bound of 730 fb with the expected limit of 560 fb in the absence of SM.
