Dissecting the shared genetic architecture of suicide attempt, psychiatric disorders and known risk factors

Niamh Mullins, +327 more
- 04 Dec 2020 -
TL;DR: The results identify a risk locus that contributes more strongly to SA than other phenotypes and suggest the existence of a shared genetic etiology between SA and known risk factors that is not mediated by psychiatric disorders.
Journal ArticleDOI

Influence of ZNF804a on brain structure volumes and symptom severity in individuals with schizophrenia.

TL;DR: This study supports this assertion by finding that specific genotypes of the polymorphism are associated with brain structure volumes in individuals with schizophrenia and healthy volunteers and with symptom severity in schizophrenia.
Journal ArticleDOI

Whole-gene sequencing investigation of SAT1 in attempted suicide.

TL;DR: No evidence for SAT1 sequence variation contributing to the risk for attempted suicide could be identified, and it is possible that past associations of SAT1 expression with suicidal behavior arise from variation not captured in this study, or that causal variants in the region are too rare to be detected within this sample.
