TL;DR: The results identify a risk locus that contributes more strongly to SA than other phenotypes and suggest the existence of a shared genetic etiology between SA and known risk factors that is not mediated by psychiatric disorders.
Journal ArticleDOI
Medication in AN: A Multidisciplinary Overview of Meta-Analyses and Systematic Reviews.

TL;DR: Clinicians are offered an overview of the evidence-based data in the literature concerning the medication (psychotropic drugs and medication for somatic and nutritional complications) in the field of anorexia nervosa since the 1960s to draw practical conclusions for everyday practise and future research.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: It is revealed that loss of acetylcholine leads to a dopamine imbalance in striatal compartments, thereby promoting habits and vulnerability to maladaptive eating in mice.
Journal ArticleDOI
Clinical insight in anorexia nervosa: Associated and predictive factors
Philip Gorwood,Philip Gorwood,Philibert Duriez,Aiste Lengvenyte,Sébastien Guillaume,Sophie Criquillion +5 more
TL;DR: Poor insight has little time variability, contrary to nearly all clinical and cognitive factors, and could represent potential targets for patients with lack of awareness about their eating disorder.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Metabolic Perspective on Reward Abnormalities in Anorexia Nervosa.
TL;DR: The molecular basis of AN is reviewed based on human genetics, with an emphasis on the molecular components controlling energy homeostasis, to highlight the main metabolic and endocrine alterations occurring in AN and decipher the possible connection between metabolic factors and abnormalities of reward processes that are central in AN.
