Journal ArticleDOI

Common variants at 12q14 and 12q24 are associated with hippocampal volume

Joshua C. Bis, +96 more
- 15 Apr 2012 -
TL;DR: In this article, a genome-wide association study (GWAS) of dementia-free persons (n = 9,232) identified 46 SNPs at four loci with P values of <4.0 × 10(-7).
Journal ArticleDOI

Genetic evidence for causal relationships between maternal obesity-related traits and birth weight

Jessica Tyrrell, +89 more
- 15 Mar 2016 -
TL;DR: For BMI and fasting glucose, genetic associations were consistent with the observational associations, but for systolic blood pressure, the genetic and observational associations were in opposite directions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Six novel susceptibility Loci for early-onset androgenetic alopecia and their unexpected association with common diseases.

TL;DR: In this article, a large-scale meta-analysis of seven genome-wide association studies for early-onset AGA in 12,806 individuals of European ancestry was conducted and the association between early-onset AGA, Parkinson's disease, and decreased fertility was found.

Dissecting the shared genetic architecture of suicide attempt, psychiatric disorders and known risk factors

Niamh Mullins, +327 more
- 04 Dec 2020 -
TL;DR: The results identify a risk locus that contributes more strongly to SA than other phenotypes and suggest the existence of a shared genetic etiology between SA and known risk factors that is not mediated by psychiatric disorders.
