Journal ArticleDOI

It's not black and white: individualizing metformin treatment in type 2 diabetes.

TL;DR: African Americans were shown to be more responsive to metformin in terms of a change in HbA1C, even after adjusting for all relevant covariates, and this provocative finding, if confirmed, would define African Americans as more likely met formin responders when compared to European Americans.
Journal ArticleDOI

Case records of the Massachusetts General Hospital. Case 17-2013. A 56-year-old woman with poorly controlled diabetes mellitus and fatigue.

TL;DR: A 56-year-old woman with diabetes mellitus was admitted to this hospital because of hyperglycemia and chest pain.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ching-Ti Liu, +72 more
- 01 Jul 2019 -
TL;DR: In this article, the authors conducted a genome-wide association study of longitudinal fasting glucose changes in up to 13,807 non-diabetic individuals of European descent from nine cohorts.
Book ChapterDOI

Chapter 14 – Diabetes

TL;DR: This chapter will summarize the concept, history, and recent discoveries produced by genomic studies for T2D and glycemic traits, and highlighted possible targets for pharmacogenetics.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Type 2 Diabetes Knowledge Portal: An open access genetic resource dedicated to type 2 diabetes and related traits.

Maria C. Costanzo, +143 more
- 01 Mar 2023 -
TL;DR: The Type 2 Diabetes Knowledge Portal (T2DKP) as discussed by the authors is a public resource of genetic datasets and genomic annotations dedicated to type 2 diabetes and related traits, which can be used for access to complex disease genetic results.
