Journal ArticleDOI

Intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy is associated with an increased risk of gestational diabetes

TL;DR: Data from a retrospective case-control study of pregnancy outcomes in 57,724 women managed at a university teaching hospital in Rhode Island, USA support the hypothesis that the incidence of GDM is higher in women predisposed to developing ICP.
Journal ArticleDOI

Baricitinib in patients admitted to hospital with COVID-19 (RECOVERY): a randomised, controlled, open-label, platform trial and updated meta-analysis

Obbina Abani, +7885 more
- 03 Mar 2022 -
TL;DR: In patients hospitalised with COVID-19, baricitinib significantly reduced the risk of death but the size of benefit was somewhat smaller than that suggested by previous trials.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cholestatic pregnancy is associated with reduced placental 11βHSD2 expression

TL;DR: Placental 11βHSD2 mRNA expression was reduced in human and murine cholestatic pregnancy and studies in BeWo choriocarcinoma cells demonstrated that CDCA is likely to be the specific bile acid that mediates this effect, supporting its use in the management of ICP.
