TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the effect of company performance to dividend policy in manufacturing companies and analyzed the direct effect from profitability, leverage, and liquidity with company dividend policy by using liquidity as a moderating variable.
Abstract: Companies in managing their finances are always faced with three important issues that are interrelated. The three problems are investment decisions, funding decisions and dividend policy decisions. This study will be focusing on dividend policy decision. Not all companies distribute dividend even when they have high profit/liquidity level or because they need money to pay interest. This study investigates and aim to analyze the effect of company performance to dividend policy in manufacturing companies. Company performance used as variables are: profitability, leverage, and liquidity. The author will analyze the direct effect from profitability, leverage, and liquidity with company dividend policy. After that by using liquidity as moderating variable, the author will analyze wether high liquidity level can strengthen company decision to distribute dividends. The sample for this study are 77 manufacturing industry companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2010-2016 which distributed dividends. Research data is taken from annual financial report data published by the sample companies. The data in this study were processed with the help of SEM smartPLS 3.0 model. This study explains the impact of profitability, leverage, and liquidity factors on dividend policy and wether liquidity can be used to strengthen or weaken the relationship between profitability to dividend policy and leverage to dividend policy.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors show that if the opening orientation is at the wind shadow zone, the interior space will not receive wind, it obtains sucking pressure instead, and the design of an opening should focus on the area of inlet and outlet.
Abstract: Natural ventilation for dwellings in tropical wet regions is very important for health. The requirement for natural ventilation is measured in air change rate (ACH) constituting of the availability of fresh air, quality of air circulation, heat losses, and unwanted gasses in the room. Wind speed is useful for accelerating evaporative cooling process and thus plays an important role for thermal comfort in the interior room. Local wind conditions affects the ventilation of a building and therefore might cause problems in predicting the natural ventilation and thermal comfort in a high-rise building, especially in the area and orientation of an opening that is not perpendicular to the wind direction. Ventilation parameters that are to be observed are the air flow rate and air change (ACH) that are gained from a simulation using the AILOS software. The results show that if the opening orientation is at the wind shadow zone, the interior space will not receive wind, it obtains sucking pressure instead. The design of an opening should focus on the area of inlet and outlet because when ACH does not increase, consequently internal wind speed becomes low and thermal comfort will not be met. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia: Keberadaan ventilasi alam pada hunian lingkungan tropis lembab sangat penting bagi kesehatan.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a framework for developing a device in which allowing users to autonomously manage electricity load demand through monitoring, controlling and scheduling mechanism, which utilizes the principle of Demand Side Management in order to save energy by monitoring and re-arranging appliances load curve, of which resulted by either individual load or the whole loads in their premises.
Abstract: This paper presents a proposed framework for developing a device in which allowing users to autonomously manage electricity load demand through monitoring, controlling and scheduling mechanism. The proposed framework utilizes the principle of Demand Side Management in order to save energy by monitoring and re-arranging appliances load curve, of which resulted by either individual load or the whole loads in their premises. The system is comprised of the load metering, minimum system as controller, and wireless communication. The accessibility of the system is improved by the inclusion of the Internet of Things platform.

TL;DR: This study uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) Beacon that place around the museum to build a suitable system in order to improve knowledge about the behavior of museum visitors by identifying the position of visitors in the museum.
Abstract: Generally, a museum has many locations and artifacts collection that display for visitors. Museum manager often have difficulty in obtaining information on visitors behavior such as, is there are particular locations/artifacts in the museum that are frequently/rarely visit by museum visitors, how long visitors spend their time in particular locations/artifacts, etc. The purpose of this study is try to build a suitable system in order to improve knowledge about the behavior of museum visitors by identifying the position of visitors in the museum. This study uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) Beacon that place around the museum. The visitor mobile phone will detect BLE beacon signal, then the mobile phone application will calculated the visitor’s mobile phone position using the signal strength from the BLE beacons that are detected. The application then sends it to the computer server to display it in as museum visitor heat map. From this information, the museum manager could find out the visitors behavior movement and know which areas/artifacts that frequently/rarely visit by museum visitors. According to distance error testing which compare real location and position of the calculation, it is show that the average of distance error is around 140 cm. So, it can be concluded that the information obtained is sufficient enough to represent the position of museum visitors.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors observed the spatial identity of young adults living in kampungs (urban villages), in Surabaya city, and found that the identity with the strongest attachment is related to social behaviour of the young adults but which is not recognized by current planning strategies.
Abstract: Spatial identity is a result of a connection between people, physical elements of places, and activities associated with them. The development of identity occurs through the psychological process place attachment. This article is based on a research project that observed the spatial identity of young adults living in kampungs (urban villages), in Surabaya city. The young adults are faced with the contrast of a two-sided modernity between the kampungs and the city, which affects their attachment. The study of place attachment has been undertaken through an observation of social life of the participants and spatial perception. Through this study of spatial identity not only physical characteristics were identified, but also social characteristics. This is due to physical conditions of space and social interactions in these spaces are intertwined. The study found that the identity with the strongest attachment is related to social behaviour of the young adults but which is not recognised by current planning strategies. This study of spatial identity is suggesting that policy changes are needed to improve spatial environment of the kampungs.
