The effect of switching cost and product return management on repurchase intent: A case study in the B2B distribution channel context in Indonesia

Abstract: Business-to-Business (B2B) market normally deals with fewer customers; thus it creates a close relationship between customers and sellers. This relationship must be managed in a way so that it can encourage customer willingness to purchase again. As such, switching cost risk will become less as the customers keep buying from the same channel. At the same time, good return management system also plays an important role for stimulating re-purchase intent in addition to other factors such as customer satisfaction and customer value. This study aimed to analyse the effect of switching cost and product return management on re-purchase intent with customer satisfaction and customer value playing as moderating variables. Company A, a wholesaler that operates in the construction building material business in East Java was selected as the case study object for examining the relationships among the measured concepts. The survey was completed in three cities in which 200 retail stores of Company A’s customers are located The result showed that switching cost and product return management both had a significant effect on retailers’ re-purchase intent. Meanwhile, customer value as a moderating variable did not have a significant effect on how switching cost and product return management affecting re-purchase intent. In addition, customer satisfaction had a significant effect on how switching cost influencing re-purchase intent.

Humanistic strategies in the efl speaking class

Abstract: This paper focuses on the humanistic strategies woven into the EFL speaking class activities. The speaking class, which the writer used for her study, is the highest level of speaking course offered in the curriculum of the English Department of Petra Christian University, to develop students' English speaking skills, particularly in public speaking. The humanistic strategies are based on the assumption that a "supportive and co-operative group atmosphere" ((Hadfield, 1995, p.15) will enhance learning to bring out the best of the students. The primary aims are to help the students, through active participation, to develop more positive feelings about themselves and their classmates, to co-operate and support each other to grow and excel at their speech performance. Based on the students' evaluation and the teacher's observation of the students' public speech performance and their academic achievement, it can be concluded that the humanistic strategies have created a co-operative and supportive group atmosphere and has given positive effects on the students' speech performance. This is also a rewarding experience for the teacher.

Abstract: Dalam proses pembuatan penjadwalan proyek tidak dipungkiri ada banyak kendala, hal ini diakibatkan dari berbedanya tingkat kerumitan tiap proyek Oleh karena itu diperlukan aplikasi program yang sesuai dengan berbagai macam kebutuhan perusahaan/ latar belakang pengguna dalam membantu mengelola sebuah proyek konstruksi agar efektif dan efisien Diantara berbagai aplikasi program yang ada sekarang ini Microsoft Project dan Primavera adalah aplikasi program profesional yang masih berkembang dan paling sering digunakan oleh project planner, project control, scheduler, project manager, estimator, dan lain-lain Penelitian ini membandingkan kelebihan dan kelemahan kedua aplikasi program dengan memakai pendekatan studi literatur, mengintepretasikan dalam aplikasi program, menggunakan semua fitur aplikasi program yang tersedia, dan kemudian membandingkan kedua aplikasi program berdasarkan 12 kategori menurut J D Witt sebagai kerangka dasar penelitian Hasil penelitian menunjukan keduanya memiliki kemampuan yang relatif sama Disatu pihak, Microsoft Project sangat user frindly, tidak memerlukan waktu yang lama dalam menyelesaikan hubungan antar aktivitas, sangat kompatible dengan Microsoft Excel, memiliki kemampuan membuat jadwal kerja/ sistem kalendering dengan berbagai macam constraints, dan sangat baik digunakan pada proyek skala kecil Sedangkan, Primavera baik dalam menampilkan grafik resource, cost, dan kurva S, mengatur informasi proyek dengan menggunakan kode aktivitas dan sangat baik digunakan pada proyek skala menengah sampai besar

Closed-loop Supply Chain as an Agent of Sustainable Development

Abstract: Sustainability has recently become an important issue which received growing attentions from government, society, industries as well as academia. There have been concerns on relatively rapid growth in population and increased quality of life despite limited natural resources and landfill capacity. Closed-loop Supply Chain (CLSC) is one of many approaches to mitigate the abovementioned disproportion. This article aims to study closed-loop supply chain by explaining the definition, description, pros and contras, relevance, case studies from literature, and potential research; such that its role as an agent of sustainable development can be recognized.
