TL;DR: In this paper, a study was conducted in 33 manufacturing companies and 34 non-manufacturing companies in Surabaya, as the second biggest city in Indonesia, by using partial least square statistic, which found that employee satisfaction and employee performance are able to positively intervene in the relationship of the learning organization to financial performance.

TL;DR: Results show that inventory management activities contribute considerably (17–22%) to total cost and emission rate and multiple tours performance is consistently better than single tour method.
Abstract: This study proposes a multi-objective green cyclic inventory routing problem (MOGCIRP) model to capture the influence of both transportation and inventory management toward cost and environmental issues. The proposed IRP considers single and multiple cyclic tours, handling time, and capacitated fleet with weight dependent fuel consumption to model more comprehensive logistics activities. A discrete multi-swarm particle swarm optimization (PSO) and a heuristic optimization are proposed to yield the Pareto set of MOCGIRP. Results show that inventory management activities contribute considerably (17–22%) to total cost and emission rate. Additionally, multiple tours performance is consistently better than single tour method.

TL;DR: The Kalman Filter is implemented for Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) on the ATMega8535 and a pipeline configuration is recommended if the control algorithm needs more space in a sampling time.
Abstract: The Kalman Filter is very useful in prediction and estimation. In this paper, the Kalman Filter is implemented for Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) on the ATMega8535. The sensors used in this system are accelerometer MMA7260QT and gyroscope GS-12. The system chooses the arbitrary sampling time and then it is evaluated for possible using smaller value. As the Kalman Filter operation needs matrix calculation, the formula is converted into several ordinary equations. The parameter being investigated in this paper is measurement covariance matrix. This parameter influences the way the Kalman Filter responses to noise. Bigger value makes the Kalman Filter less sensitive to noise and the estimation is too smooth, thus it does not give real angle estimation. Using smaller value makes the Kalman Filter more sensitive to noise. This makes the estimated angle still suffers from noise and it is likely that the Kalman Filter is useless. This paper recommends 0.0001 to 0.001 for the measurement covariance noise parameter. This paper also recommended a pipeline configuration if the control algorithm needs more space in a sampling time.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors measured the influence of knowledge management on the performance of the employees using case studies on the front office department at the Surabaya Plaza Hotel, and revealed that knowledge management indirectly affects the employee performance, personal knowledge significantly affects job procedure, and the most dominant element of influencing the employee's performance is technology.
Abstract: At the era of the global competition, knowledge management hopefully could provide sufficiently significant contributions to human resources, particularly among the hospitality world. This research is aimed at measuring the influence of knowledge management on the performance of the employees using case studies on the front office department at the Surabaya Plaza Hotel. The outcome of this research reveals that knowledge management indirectly affects the employee’s performance, personal knowledge significantly affects job procedure, and the most dominant element of influencing the employee’s performance is technology.

TL;DR: In this article, Sugarcane bagasse fibers considerably increase the stiffness of PLA, result in almost constant tensile strength and increase impact resistance yielding a material with reasonable combination of properties for structural applications.
Abstract: PLA/sugarcane bagasse fiber composites were prepared by injection molding from two fractions of fibers with different fiber characteristics, which were determined before and after processing. Interfacial adhesion was modified by a maleated PLA coupling agent. The mechanical properties of the composites were characterized by tensile and impact testing, while local deformation processes by acoustic emission testing and microscopy. The results showed that considerable attrition takes place during melt processing in both the length and diameter of the fibers. The originally different batches of short and long fibers have similar dimensions after processing. Interfacial adhesion between PLA and bagasse is inherently good, thus coupling does not improve properties. Shear yielding and fiber fracture consume sufficiently energy to increase the impact resistance. Sugarcane bagasse fibers considerably increase the stiffness of PLA, result in almost constant tensile strength and increase impact resistance yielding a material with reasonable combination of properties for structural applications.
