Production Inventory Models for Deteriorating Items with Stochastic Machine Unavailability Time, Lost Sales and Price-Dependent Demand

Abstract: The economic production quantity (EPQ) model is widely employed in reality and is also being intensively developed in the research area. This research tries to develop more realistic EPQ models for deteriorating items by considering stochastic machine unavailability time (uniformly and exponentially distributed) and price-dependent demand. Lost sales will occur when machine unavailability time is longer than the non production time. Since the closed form solution cannot be derived, we use Genetic Algorithm (GA) to solve the models. A numerical example and sensitivity analysis is shown to illustrate the models. The sensitivity analyses show that a management can use price policy to minimize the profit loss due to machine unavailability time under a price- dependent demand situation

Motif pengguna jejaring sosial google+ di indonesia

Abstract: Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui bagaimana motif para pengguna jejaring sosial Google+ di Indonesia, karena Google+ merupakan salah satu jejaring sosial baru ang muncul di dunia dan memiliki lonjakan pengguna yang sangat tinggi. Motif yang diteliti adalah motif pengguna masyarakat Indonesia dalam menggunakan jejaring sosial Google+ dengan menggunakan teori Uses and Gratification . Indikator yang digunakan meliputi: hubungan sosial, berbagi identitas, foto, isi ( content ), investigasi sosial, berselancar di jejaring sosial dan memperbaharui status. Sedangkan metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah survei deskriptif pada 100 pengguna jejaring sosial Google+ di Indonesia, dengan menggunakan teknik non probability accidential sampling . Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa motif pengguna jejaring sosial Google+ cukup tinggi, terutama pada indikator memperbaharui status dan hubungan sosial, dimana motif tertinggi tersebut pada pegawai swasta dan pelajar/mahasiswa. Selain itu ditemukan sebuah kesimpulan bahwa dari pengguna jejaring sosial Google+, motif tertinggi adalah untuk memperbaharui status, dimana mereka mampu menyatakan eksistensi dirinya serta mendapatkan informasi melalui stream dalam Google+.

Abstract: Isu SARA tidak lepas dari pemberitaan tentang Ahok di media online Menurut pandangan konstruksionis, berita yang ditulis dalam konteks ini, dikonstruksi oleh wartawan dan dipengaruhi oleh perspektif serta ideologi media Berdasarkan fenomena di atas, rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana konstruksi yang dilakukan media online terhadap sosok Ahok sebagai pemimpin politik beretnis Cina Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat isu apa yang ditonjolkan maupun dihilangkan media online dalam membingkai sosok Ahok sebagai pemimpin politik sekaligus pemerintahan masyarakat beretnis Cina Peneliti menggunakan metode analisis framing Robert N Entman yang memiliki empat elemen framing Sosok Ahok dikontruksi oleh media online sebagai pemimpin politik sekaligus pemerintahan yang bijaksana dan sudah biasa menghadapi isu SARA Hal ini dilihat peneliti sebagai bentuk dukungan media online untuk Ahok berkaitan dengan persiapan dirinya bila harus naik menjadi Gubernur DKI Jakarta ketika Jokowi maju menjadi Calon Presiden Republik Indonesia

Strategy to Improve Recycling Yield of Aluminium Cans

Abstract: Millions of canned drinks are consumed everyday globally and their wastes create an enviromental issue. Fortunately, the cans are made from aluminium (Al) so that it can be recycled. There are two main keypoints existing during the recycling process of Al cans, i.e. the aluminium loss or low Al-yield and low recycling yield. This work outlines the strategies to improve the recycling perfomance for Al beverage cans, i.e. by adding drossing flux, applying improved melting strategy, and cans decoating prior to melting. Drossing flux was added to assist the detachment of Al from the slag. Another improved melting strategy was worked out by decreasing exposure time cans to the furnace atmosphere during melting. All those above strategies result in an increase of recycle yield in a range of 4 % to 5 %.
