TL;DR: The use of information and communication technology (ICT) has become embedded and affected the every aspect of our lives as mentioned in this paper, and studies have demonstrated positive effects that ICT brings towards students' learning motivation.
Abstract: In recent years, information and communication technology (ICT) has become embedded and affected the every aspect of our lives. Rapid development of ICT has changed our language teaching pedagogy at all levels. Teachers, curriculum developers, researchers have been constantly striving to find techniques to use some form of it to both assist and enhance language learning. What is more exciting is that studies have demonstrated positive effects that ICT brings towards students' learning motivation (Chenoweth, Ushida & Murday, 2006; Stepp- Greany, 2002), students' personal needs and learning styles (Gimenez, 2000), students' language mastery (Stepp-Greany, 2002), effective teaching and learning process (Al-Jarf, 2004), etc. Although these studies have shown that ICT has the potential important role in supporting and enhancing language learning, the use of ICT should never be the goal in and of itself. The responsibility for language instruction should be in the hands of qualified teachers who have the knowledge and expertise to manage and to make the best use of it to accomplish learning objectives.

TL;DR: In this paper, the influence of service quality on customer loyaty by using relationship marketing as an intervening variable was investigated, where service quality is measured by applying tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance and empathy.
Abstract: This research aims to investigate the influence of service quality on customer loyaty by using relationship marketing as an intervening variable. Service quality is measured by applying tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance and empathy. Relationship marketing is observed from harmony, acceptance dan participation simplicity, while customer loyalty is measured by indicators such as say positive things, recommend friend, and continue purchasing. Using two step regressions, the result indicate that service quality has a direct influence on customer loyalty and indirect effect on customer loyalty with relationship marketing as an invertening variable.

TL;DR: A new computational intelligence system is developed, the so-called risk-based evaluation model for bridge life-cycle maintenance strategy (REMBMS), which considers the three main risk factors of component deterioration, scouring and earthquakes in order to minimise the expected life- cycle cost of bridge maintenance.
Abstract: The current bridge inspection and maintenance protocol that is used in most countries focuses primarily on the visible aspects of bridge fitness and underestimates the invisible aspects, such as re...

TL;DR: In this article, bottom ash is used to replace natural sand in making paving blocks and compressive strength, water absorption, and abrasion resistance tests are conducted to assess the properties of the resultant paving block.
Abstract: Bottom ash that results from coal burning for electrical generation is still much underutilized in Indonesia and it is necessary to increase the usage of this waste. The manufacture of paving blocks using bottom ash, which is normally associated with high water absorption due to its high porosity and carbon content, was examined in this study with the aim to increase the usage of this waste material. The study was done in three phases: (1) the mixture of cement and bottom ash passing sieves of 2 and 5 mm were done with ratios of 1:3, 1:4, and 1:5; from the best proportion, fly ash was used to replace the cement material from 10–80%, and (3) samples with 30% and 50% fly ash replacement ratios were used in combination with 5 mm and 10 mm sieved bottom ash. Compressive strength, water absorption, and abrasion resistance tests were conducted to assess the properties of the resultant paving block. From the result, bottom ash is used to replace natural sand in making paving blocks. By optimizing the particle packing density and using fly ash as a cement replacement, the compressive strength of paving blocks can exceed 40 MPa.

TL;DR: The approach utilizes a controller of ESP8266 that can provide monitoring level of the water container that will open and close the pump or valve automatically so that the water is not overflowing and wasted and the Internet of Things concept can solve the problem.
Abstract: Nowadays, almost all communication using the internet, but is not all, now object also can communicating each other, this concept is calls the Internet of Things (IoT). Things in IoT can be everything that we use every day. In this project, the “thing” is a water container, or in Indonesia, it called “bak mandi”. Why water container? Because, after we use water in the water container usually the level of the water container is reduced and we must fill it up for other people that use the water container. Generally, in the process of filling the water container, we forgot to close the valve or pump so water is overflowing and the water is wasted. That is why we propose to use the Internet of Things concept that can solve the problem. Our approach utilizes a controller of ESP8266 that can provide monitoring level of the water container. That controller will open and close the pump or valve automatically so that the water is not overflowing and wasted. We use an ultrasonic sensor to sense the level of the water. We utilize the Blynk IoT service incorporated with PHP web programming in providing water level monitoring and control. We have tested the system on a 64 cm water container. The system has an error of 2 cm in controlling the water level.
