01 Jun 2017TL;DR: The proposed algorithms were evaluated on quadratic assignment problem instances arising from real life problems as well as on a number of benchmark instances from the QAPLIB and show that the proposed algorithms are very effective in solving both types of instances.
Abstract: The aim of this paper is to apply the variable block insertion heuristic (VBIH) algorithm recently proposed in the literature for solving the quadratic assignment problem (QAP). The VBIH algorithm is concerned with making block moves in a given solution. As a local search in this paper, the VNST is employed from the literature to be applied to a solution obtained after several block moves. Besides the single-solution based VBIH, we also propose a populated VBIH (PVBIH) in this paper. The proposed algorithms were evaluated on quadratic assignment problem instances arising from real life problems as well as on a number of benchmark instances from the QAPLIB. The computational results show that the proposed algorithms are very effective in solving both types of instances. All PCB instances are further improved.

16 Oct 2018TL;DR: An Authenticated QoS-Aware Routing (AQoSAR) for Software Defined Networks to determine routing paths of a single user and a group of users in an authenticated manner is proposed and shown to show the applicability of AQoSAR.
Abstract: Quality of Service (QoS) aware routing is an ongoing and major problem for traditional networks since they are not able to manage network traffic for immense variety of users due to their inflexible and static architectures. Software Defined Networking (SDN) has emerged to remove these limitations by separating the control plane and the data plane to provide centralized control with the help of programmable controllers. Such improvements also make SDN more flexible than traditional networks in terms of achieving QoS-aware routing for large and medium sized networks. However, providing QoS-aware routing in SDN without using any security mechanism may become a challenging issue. For instance, malicious users in the network may escalate their privileges to monopolize resource utilization. The provision of an authentication mechanism that jointly works with QoS-aware routing is expected to solve the issue. In this paper, we propose an Authenticated QoS-Aware Routing (AQoSAR) for Software Defined Networks to determine routing paths of a single user and a group of users in an authenticated manner. AQoSAR consists of the authentication application and the routing application. In the authentication application, we employ Ciphertext Policy Attribute Based Encryption since it easily operates with huge variety of users by defining attributes such as QoS-aware routing metrics. In the routing application, we propose a routing approach based on a metric list rather than a single metric for determining the QoS level of users. To show the applicability of AQoSAR, the security analysis and the performance analysis are presented.

01 Jan 2015TL;DR: In this paper, the authors show the impact of ethics in the field of management and show that if a company does not respect ethical criteria and fails to improve them, this will disrupt its integrity and unity and lead to internal or external conflicts.
Abstract: Ethics is the science of morals dealing with human morality revealed in the human character and conduct. In general, ethics shows a corporation how to behave properly in all their businesses and operations. In business, ethical behavior means feeling responsible, being honest and confident towards your clients, employees, and stakeholders. On the other hand, when a company does not respect ethical criteria and fails to improve them, this will disrupt its integrity and unity and lead to internal or external conflicts. The rules of behavior are set by the government and society in the public area whereas the rules of behavior are set by employers in the workplace. The corporate world has always had some rules, norms, and standards in doing business. In this chapter, the authors show the impact of ethics in the field of management.

TL;DR: A real-time discrimination system has been implemented using the Daubhecies8 wavelet which has the best accuracy and the dual tree wavelet transform has also demonstrated a successful performance both in terms of accuracy and time consumption.
Abstract: The performance of wavelet transform-based features for the speech/music discrimination task has been investigated. In order to extract wavelet domain features, discrete and complex orthogonal wavelet transforms have been used. The performance of the proposed feature set has been compared with a feature set constructed from the most common time, frequency and cepstral domain features such as number of zero crossings, spectral centroid, spectral flux, and Mel cepstral coefficients. The artificial neural networks have been used as classification tool. The principal component analysis has been applied to eliminate the correlated features before the classification stage. For discrete wavelet transform, considering the number of vanishing moments and orthogonality, the best performance is obtained with Daubechies8 wavelet among the other members of the Daubechies family. The dual tree wavelet transform has also demonstrated a successful performance both in terms of accuracy and time consumption. Finally, a real-time discrimination system has been implemented using the Daubhecies8 wavelet which has the best accuracy.

TL;DR: In this study, an embedded system vehicle tracking applications have been realized using Linux operating system and developed applications take the geographical location information from the GPS module and transmit the information to a central server using the GSM module.
Abstract: In this study, an embedded system vehicle tracking applications have been realized. GSM modules and GPS modules which allows to track the vehicle operation are used in the system. Linux operating system is used in the design of the system. Device applications have been written using tools of Linux operating system. Developed applications take the geographical location information from the GPS module and transmits the information to a central server using the GSM module. In the study, vehicle tracking, power management, GPS control and radio interface layer applications have been developed.
