TLDR
Genevestigator as mentioned in this paper is a web-browser interface for gene expression analysis using Affymetrix GeneChip data, which allows users to retrieve the expression patterns of individual genes throughout chosen environmental conditions, growth stages, or organs.Abstract:
High-throughput gene expression analysis has become a frequent and powerful research tool in biology. At present, however, few software applications have been developed for biologists to query large microarray gene expression databases using a Web-browser interface. We present GENEVESTIGATOR, a database and Web-browser data mining interface for Affymetrix GeneChip data. Users can query the database to retrieve the expression patterns of individual genes throughout chosen environmental conditions, growth stages, or organs. Reversely, mining tools allow users to identify genes specifically expressed during selected stresses, growth stages, or in particular organs. Using GENEVESTIGATOR, the gene expression profiles of more than 22,000 Arabidopsis genes can be obtained, including those of 10,600 currently uncharacterized genes. The objective of this software application is to direct gene functional discovery and design of new experiments by providing plant biologists with contextual information on the expression of genes. The database and analysis toolbox is available as a community resource at https://www.genevestigator.ethz.ch.read more

FLYING SAUCER1 Is a Transmembrane RING E3 Ubiquitin Ligase That Regulates the Degree of Pectin Methylesterification in Arabidopsis Seed Mucilage
Cătălin Voiniciuc,Gillian H. Dean,Jonathan S. Griffiths,Kerstin Kirchsteiger,Yeen Ting Hwang,Alan Gillett,Graham J. Dow,Tamara L. Western,Mark Estelle,George W. Haughn +9 more
TL;DR: Flying saucer1 (fly1), a novel Arabidopsis thaliana seed coat mutant, is characterized, which displays primary wall detachment, reduced mucilage extrusion, and increased mucilage adherence and it is proposed that FLY1 regulates the DM of pectin in mucilage, potentially by recycling pECTin methylesterase enzymes in the endomembrane system of seed coat epidermal cells.

In Planta Analysis of the Cell Cycle-Dependent Localization of AtCDC48A and Its Critical Roles in Cell Division, Expansion, and Differentiation
TL;DR: Reverse genetics, visualization of a functional Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana) CDC48 fluorescent fusion protein, and morphological analysis demonstrate that CDC48A/p97 is critical for cytokinesis, cell expansion, and differentiation in plants.

The AT‐hook‐containing proteins SOB3/AHL29 and ESC/AHL27 are negative modulators of hypocotyl growth in Arabidopsis
TL;DR: In this article, SOB3, which encodes a plant-specific AT-hook motif containing protein, was identified from an activationtagging screen for suppressors of the long-hypocotyl phenotype of a weak phyB allele.

d-myo-Inositol-3-Phosphate Affects Phosphatidylinositol-Mediated Endomembrane Function in Arabidopsis and Is Essential for Auxin-Regulated Embryogenesis
Yu Luo,Genji Qin,Jun Zhang,Yuan Liang,Yingqi Song,Meiping Zhao,Tomohiko Tsuge,Takashi Aoyama,Jingjing Liu,Hongya Gu,Li-Jia Qu +10 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that myo-inositol serves as the main substrate for synthesizing PtdIns and phosphatidylinositides, which are essential for endomembrane structure and trafficking and thus for auxin-regulated embryogenesis.

Hierarchical Organization of Modularity in Metabolic Networks
TL;DR: It is shown that the metabolic networks of 43 distinct organisms are organized into many small, highly connected topologic modules that combine in a hierarchical manner into larger, less cohesive units, with their number and degree of clustering following a power law.
