Functional Aspects of Gif-type Oxidation of Hydrocarbons Mediated by Iron Picolinate H₂O₂-dependent Systems: Evidence for the Generation of Carbon- and Oxygen-centered Radicals

TL;DR: In this article, the functional features of ferrous and ferric complexes of the picolinic acid anion (Pic) were explored for the purpose of identifying the catalytic mechanism for Gif-type oxidation of hydrocarbons by H2O2.
Journal ArticleDOI

Visible light-induced nuclease activity of a ternary mono-phenanthroline copper(II) complex containing L-methionine as a photosensitizer

TL;DR: Ternary copper(II) complex has 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) as an intercalator/binder to supercoiled pUC19 DNA and L-methionine (met) as a photosensitizer, and the complex displays efficient photonuclease activity on irradiation with UV or visible light through a mechanistic pathway involving singlet oxygen.
Journal ArticleDOI

Transition metal-mediated oxidations utilizing monomeric iodosyl- and iodylarene species

TL;DR: In this article, a method for preparation of Iodylarenes via RuCl3-catalyzed oxidation of Iodoarenes has been developed, which allows the generation of highly reactive monomeric iodine(V) species, which are excellent oxidants toward alcohols and hydrocarbons in situ.
Journal ArticleDOI

An investigation of the kinetics and thermodynamics of the adsorption of a cationic cobalt porphyrazine onto sepiolite

TL;DR: In this article, the adsorption of octakis(2-trimethylammoniumethylsulfanyl)-porphyrazinatocobalt]-octaiodide from aqueous solution onto negatively charged sepiolite is investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

First enantioselective iron-porphyrin-catalyzed sulfide oxidation with aqueous hydrogen peroxide.

TL;DR: The asymmetric oxidation of sulfides by H( 2)O(2) to give optically active sulfoxides was carried out in methanol and water using chiral water-soluble iron porphyrins as catalysts.
