Journal ArticleDOI

The mechanism of enzymatic and biomimetic oxidations of aromatic sulfides and sulfoxides

TL;DR: In this article, the authors show that biomimetic and enzymatic oxidations of benzyl sulfides and sulfoxides lead to products (sulfoxides or sulfones) different from those obtained with bona fide electron transfer oxidations (products of CH and/or S bond cleavage), which suggests the operation of an oxygen transfer mechanism.
Journal ArticleDOI

A novel catalytic system for oxygenation with molecular oxygen induced by transition metal complexes with a multidentate N-heterocyclic podand ligand

TL;DR: In this paper, an efficient system for the catalytic epoxidation reaction of olefins with molecular oxygen was achieved by the utilization of FeCl 2 and the N -heterocyclic podand ligand, N,N′ -bis{2-(4-imidazolyl)ethyl}-2,6-pyridinedicarboxamide (BIPA), without the need for a co-reductant.
Journal ArticleDOI

Potential energy curves and electronic structure of 3d transition metal hydrides and their cations

TL;DR: The performance of two exchange-correlation functionals, Boese-Martin for kinetics and Tao-Perdew-Staroverov-Scuseria (TPSS), in predicting bond lengths and energetics, electronic structures, dipole moments, and ionization potentials is evaluated.
Journal ArticleDOI

The strong influence of structures around titanium centers in dimeric mono-, di-, and tri-titanium(IV)-substituted Keggin polyoxotungstates on the catalytic epoxidation of alkenes with H2O2

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that tri-titanium(IV)-substituted Keggin polyoxotungstates (α-PTiW11O39)2O]8− (1), [(α-1,2-PW10Ti2O38]2O2]10− (2), and [(α 1,2,3-PTI3W9O37)2 O3]12− (3) catalyzed the epoxidation of cyclooctene, cyclohexene, and 1

Polyoxometalates in Catalytic Selective Homogeneous Oxygenation and Anti-HIV Chemotherapy

TL;DR: In this paper, a review concentrates on two areas of intense research interest involving polyoxometalates, homogeneous catalysis and medicine, and a general compilation is given in Table I of the literature reactions involving 21 TMSP complexes, 10 oxidants, five classes of substrates and 10 solvent systems.
