Cyclic metalloporphyrin dimers: Conformational flexibility, applications and future prospects

TL;DR: In this article, a review illustrates the recent advancement of cyclic metalloporphyrin dimers based on their remarkable applications and highlights the basic conformational features, structural aspects, binding ability towards guests, influence of metals etc.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comparative computational analysis of binding energies between several divalent first-row transition metals (Cr2+, Mn2+, Fe2+, Co2+, Ni2+, and Cu2+) and ligands (porphine, corrin, and TMC)

TL;DR: In this article, B3lyP density functional theory calculations were performed to quantify the binding affinities of six divalent first-row transition metals (Cr2+, Mn2+, Fe2+, Co2+, Ni2+, and Cu2+) for three well-known macrocyclic ligands (porphine, corrin, and 1,4,8,11,11-tetramethyl-1, 4, 8, 11, 11 -tetraazacyclotetradecane [TMC]).
Journal ArticleDOI

Semisynthetic flavocytochromes based on cytochrome P450 2B4: reductase and oxygenase activities.

TL;DR: Formation of carbon monoxide complex with the reduced form of hemoprotein led to 60-80% inhibition of oxygenase reactions, indicating the leading role of reduced heme iron in generating active oxygen species by flavocytochromes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Manganese porphyrin in solution and heterogenized in different materials mediates oxidation of hydrocarbons by iodosylbenzene

TL;DR: In this article, a free base porphyrin (HP) containing hydroxy and methoxy groups in the mesophenyl substituents of the porphrin ring was prepared, and the Mn(III) ion was inserted into the resulting HP, to obtain MnP.

Titanium silicate molecular sieve (TS-1) induced catalytic cleavage of tosylhydrazones

TL;DR: Titanium silicate molecular sieve, having MFI (TS-1) topology, efficiently catalyses the oxidative cleavage of various tosylhydrazones to the corresponding carbonyl compounds in moderate to good yields, using dilute hydrogen peroxide (30%) as an oxidising agent and involving a unique electrophilic species as mentioned in this paper.
