Abstract
By way of worked examples in typical but somewhat idealized cases the effect on circuit speed of circuit interconnections is studied. The source, calculation and minimization of interconnection crosstalk is also discussed. It is shown that high-speed circuitry must be miniaturized and the implications are discussed.

Crosstalk in Balanced Interconnections Used for Differential Signal Transmission

TL;DR: A two-stage model for assessing crosstalk in balanced interconnections used for differential signal transmission, such as multipair cables is introduced, using a first order perturbation expansion and a probabilistic approach.

Evaluation of closed-form crosstalk models of coupled transmission lines

TL;DR: In this article, closed-form crosstalk models used for the estimation of near and far end CRSV voltages between two parallel transmission lines are evaluated, and the quantitative validity ranges, in terms of transmission line length and coupling strength, of the models are presented.

Exploiting on-chip inductance in high speed clock distribution networks

TL;DR: Inductance can improve the signal slew rate, virtually eliminate short-circuit power consumption, and reduce the area of the active devices and repeaters inserted to optimize the performance of long interconnects.

A New Isolation Structure of Pogo Pins for Crosstalk Reduction in a Test Socket

TL;DR: In this paper, a new isolation structure is integrated in the test socket to reduce the crosstalk between pogo pins with various pin patterns and different signal to ground (S/G) ratios.

FDTD modeling of noise in computer packages

TL;DR: Equivalent circuits of coupled Transmission lines, discontinuities in transmission lines, and a parallel-plate power plane configuration are obtained, which allow one to use a circuit simulator to model the crosstalk, reflection, and simultaneous switching noises that are common in computer packages.

The engineering design of the stretch computer

TL;DR: This computer, like the 704, is aimed at scientific problems such as reactor design, hydrodynamics problems, partial differential equations etc., its instruction set and organization are such that it can handle with ease data-processing problems normally associated with commercial applications, such as processing of alphanumeric fields, sorting, and decimal arithmetic.

The Atlas supervisor

TL;DR: In this article, a brief description of work originating in the Computer Group at Manchester University is given, where the core store is divided into 512 word "pages"; this is also the size of the fixed blocks on drums and magnetic tapes.
