Gout and hyperuricaemia in the USA: prevalence and trends.
TL;DR: The age-adjusted prevalence of gout and hyperuricaemia has remained unchanged in the most recent decade from 2007-08 to 2015-16, but the estimated total number of persons with self-reported gout has increased from 8.3 million to 9.2 million.
Journal ArticleDOI
Treating gout with pegloticase, a PEGylated urate oxidase, provides insight into the importance of uric acid as an antioxidant in vivo
Michael S. Hershfield,L. Jackson Roberts,Nancy J. Ganson,Susan J. Kelly,Ines Santisteban,Edna L. Scarlett,Denise Jaggers,John S. Sundy +7 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that refractory gout is associated with high oxidative stress in spite of high PUA, and profoundly depleting uric acid did not increase lipid or protein oxidation, which means that urate is not a major factor controlling oxidative Stress in vivo.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dapansutrile, an oral selective NLRP3 inflammasome inhibitor, for treatment of gout flares: an open-label, dose-adaptive, proof-of-concept, phase 2a trial
Viola Klück,T.L.Th.A. Jansen,Matthijs Janssen,Antoaneta Comarniceanu,M. Efde,Isak W. Tengesdal,Kiki Schraa,Maartje C. P. Cleophas,Curtis L. Scribner,Damaris B. Skouras,Carlo Marchetti,Charles A. Dinarello,Charles A. Dinarello,Leo A. B. Joosten,Leo A. B. Joosten +14 more
TL;DR: Dapansutrile is a specific NLRP3 inflammasome inhibitor with a satisfactory safety profile and efficacy in the reduction of target joint pain in this study.
Journal ArticleDOI
Extracellular DNA traps in inflammation, injury and healing.
TL;DR: How DNA traps not only participate in pathogen clearance but can also promote vascular disease and autoimmunity is discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Efficacy of anakinra in gouty arthritis: a retrospective study of 40 cases
Sébastien Ottaviani,Anna Molto,Hang-Korng Ea,Severine Neveu,Ghislaine Gill,Lauren Brunier,Elisabeth Palazzo,Olivier Meyer,Pascal Richette,Thomas Bardin,Yannick Allanore,Frédéric Lioté,Maxime Dougados,Philippe Dieudé +13 more
TL;DR: Anakinra may be efficient in gouty arthritis, is relatively well tolerated with short-term use, and could be a relevant option in managing g outy arthritis when conventional therapies are ineffective or contraindicated.

A Laboratory manual
TL;DR: To develop a program to print the barcodes using two commonly uses command sets and hence evaluates their ease of use for such applications, students should be able to program dot matrix printers, by manipulating bit level information and ink jet printers using page description language, such as PCL.
