TL;DR: Crystallographic analysis determined the material to be apatite consistent with the tumoral calcinosis form of hydroxyapatite deposition disease (HADD), which has previously been described in aquatic turtles and rarely lizards and must be differentiated from gout in reptiles.

Critical appraisal of the role of pegloticase in the management of gout

TL;DR: Intravenous pegloticase has potent and long-lasting urate-lowering capacity with rapid efficacy on tophi resolution, however, peglosis treatment is associated with infusion-related reactions despite prevention therapy with high-dose corticosteroids, and Caution with long-term use of peglotics is warranted, especially for patients with cardiovascular diseases.

Gout in immigrant groups: a cohort study in Sweden.

TL;DR: The risk of gout was lower among men from Greece, Spain, Nordic countries and Latin America and among women from Southern Europe and compared to their Swedish counterparts, but the increased risk among several immigrant groups is likely explained by a high cardio-metabolic risk factor pattern needing attention.
