TL;DR: This work builds a genetic map measuring the probability of crossing over at each position in the genome, based on about 2.1 million crossovers in 30,000 unrelated African Americans, and identifies about 2,500 recombination hotspots that are active in people of West African ancestry but nearly inactive in Europeans.

Correlates of Circulating 25-Hydroxyvitamin D Cohort Consortium Vitamin D Pooling Project of Rarer Cancers

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used stepwise linear regression and polytomous logistic regression to identify persons at risk for low vitamin D status for both clinical and research purposes, and found significant positive and significant inverse correlates of 25(OH)D included male sex, summer blood draw, vigorous physical activity, vitamin D intake, fish intake, multivitamin use, and calcium supplement use.
