TL;DR: A new, non-monolithic view of MRs is presented, according to which, contrarily to the received view, when looking at in between (visual) perceptual processes and motor processes, the authors find not only a single representational mechanism with different functions, but an ensemble of different sub-representational phenomena, each of which with a different function.

TL;DR: It is found that, in contrast to the case of a nonchirping pulse, the charged particle energy can be changed after the interaction with a 1D EM chirped pulse.
Abstract: We study the effect of chirp on electromagnetic (EM) pulse interaction with a charged particle. Both the one-dimensional (1D) and 3D cases are considered. It is found that, in contrast to the case of a nonchirped pulse, the charged particle energy can be changed after the interaction with a 1D EM chirped pulse. Different types of chirp and pulse envelopes are considered. In the case of small chirp, an analytical expression is found for arbitrary temporal profiles of the chirp and the pulse envelope. In the 3D case, the interaction with a chirped pulse results in a polarization-dependent scattering of charged particles.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors numerically explore the pasta structure with a fully three-dimensional geometry and study the properties of low-density nuclear matter, based on the relativistic mean-field model and the Thomas-Fermi approximation.
Abstract: In the neutron-star crust, nonuniform structure of nuclear matter\char22{}called the ``pasta'' structure\char22{}is expected. From recent studies of giant flares in magnetars, these structures might be related to some observables and physical quantities of the neutron-star crust. To investigate the above quantities, we numerically explore the pasta structure with a fully three-dimensional geometry and study the properties of low-density nuclear matter, based on the relativistic mean-field model and the Thomas-Fermi approximation. We observe typical pasta structures for fixed proton number fraction and two of them for cold catalyzed matter. We also discuss the crystalline configuration of ``pasta.''

TL;DR: In this article, the potential for highly toxic hydrogen cyanide (HCN) to be generated from the overheating of cyanoacrylate was investigated, and two commercial adhesives and two quantitative methods for the determination of HCN were employed: (i) the sodium picrate method; and (ii) the picrate-resorcinol method.

TL;DR: In this article, a co-impregnation method was used to investigate catalytic performance and catalyst bed temperature profile in a steam reforming of methane, and it was found that Pd is the most effective modifier among the noble metals.
Abstract: Ni catalysts supported on α-Al2O3 modified with small amounts of noble metals (Pd, Pt, Au, Ir, Rh and Ru) were prepared by a co-impregnation method to investigate catalytic performance and catalyst bed temperature profile in oxidative steam reforming of methane. Modification of the Ni catalyst with noble metals was effective to decreasing the bed temperature near the catalyst bed inlet, and it is found that Pd is the most effective modifier among the noble metals. Additive effect of Pd has some aspects: the increase of the metal dispersion, suppression of oxidation and enhancement of reducibility judging from characterization results of H2 adsorption and evaluation by pulse reaction technique using O2 and H2. The extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) analysis suggests that the excellent properties can be due to small Pd metallic cluster interacted with Ni particles.
