Abstract: Purpose. Considerable responsibility for safety of operation rests on signal telephone and telegraph department of railway. One of the most attackable nodes (both automation systems, and railway in whole) is track switches. The aim of this investigation is developing such system for monitoring and diagnostics of track switches, which would fully meet the requirements of modern conditions of high-speed motion and heavy trains and producing diagnostics, collection and systematization of data in an automated way. Methodology. I n order to achieve the desired objectives research of a structure and the operating principle description of the switch electric drive, sequence of triggering its main units were carried out. The operating characteristics and settings, operating conditions, the causes of failures in the work, andrequirements for electric drives technology and their service were considered and analyzed. Basic analysis principles of dependence of nature of the changes the current waveform, which flows in the working circuit of AC electric point motor were determined. Technical implementation of the monitoring and diagnosing system the state of AC electric point motors was carried out. Findings. S ignals taken from serviceable and defective electric turnouts were researched. Originality. Identified a strong interconnectionbetween the technical condition of the track switchand curve shape that describes the current in the circuit of AC electric point motor during operation which is based on the research processes that have influence on it during operation. Practical value. Shown the principles of the technical approach to the transition from scheduled preventive maintenance to maintenance of real condition for a more objective assessment and thus more rapid response to emerging or failures when they occur gradually, damages and any other shortcomings in the work track switch AC drives.

Abstract: Th e comparative analysis of methods for assessing the fatigue strength of the rail vehicle used in the Ukraine and the EU is described in this article. As a result of the comparison, the following main diff erences of the indicated methods are distinguished: 1. In Ukraine, fatigue strength assessment is carried out using the fatigue strength factor, which should not exceed the normative value. In the countries of the European Union, the fatigue strength is evaluated according to the permissible stresses, and the permissible stresses are determined using stress strain diagrams. 2. According to the requirements of the Norms in Ukraine for determining the fatigue strength factor, the endurance limits of standard samples in a symmetrical loading cycle are used. Th e stress limit diagrams, which are used in European norms, are constructed for characteristic structural elements taking into account the asymmetry of the stress cycle coeffi cients. Analytic studies and analysis of experimental data carried out by the author have made it possible to develop a number of recommendations aimed at increasing the reliability of the results of estimating the fatigue strength of load-bearing structures of selfpropelled rolling stock and to make proposals for harmonizing the relevant regulatory documents in Ukraine and the EU countries.

Abstract: Purpose. The purpose of work is scientifically grounded introduction of the acquired techniques into works for service life extension of the traction and motor rolling stock for industrial transport. Methodology. To achieve the purpose it was analyzed the acquired techniques for service life extension of the traction and motor rolling stock for mainline transport. The acquired techniques during solution of problems concerning the service life extension of rolling stock units were adapted to the locomotives TGM6A and traction aggregates OPE1. Findings. On the basis of experimental and theoretical complex of studies some results were obtained. They gave the ground to determine the possibility of acquired techniques use when solving the problems on service life extension of rolling stock units concerning locomotives TGM6A and traction aggregates OPE1. Originality . On the basis of conducted experimental and theoretical studies scientific maintenance of the works providing extension of service life of traction and motor units of industrial rolling stock was executed. Practical value. Technical solutions and measures, which have to be carried out during operation within the prolonged appointed service life of traction and motor units of industrial rolling stock enterprises using locomotives and traction aggregates to provide the basic technological cycles were developed.
