TL;DR: The combination of high-quality Al2 O3 dielectric and thiol chemistry passivation can effectively reduce the density of interface traps and Coulomb impurities, leading to a significant improvement of the mobility and a transition of the charge transport from the insulating to the metallic regime.
Abstract: The combination of high-quality Al2 O3 dielectric and thiol chemistry passivation can effectively reduce the density of interface traps and Coulomb impurities, leading to a significant improvement of the mobility and a transition of the charge transport from the insulating to the metallic regime. A record high mobility of 83 cm(2) V(-1) s(-1) (337 cm(2) V(-1) s(-1) ) is reached at room temperature (low temperature) for monolayer WS2 . A theoretical model for electron transport is also developed.

TL;DR: In this article, a benchmarking of grid fault modes that might come in future single-phase photovoltaic (PV) systems is presented, in order to map future challenges, the relevant synchronization and control strategies are discussed.
Abstract: Pushed by the booming installations of single-phase photovoltaic (PV) systems, the grid demands regarding the integration of PV systems are expected to be modified. Hence, the future PV systems should become more active with functionalities of low-voltage ride through and grid support capability. The control methods, together with grid synchronization techniques, are responsible for the generation of appropriate reference signals in order to handle ride-through grid faults. Thus, it is necessary to evaluate the behaviors of grid synchronization methods and control possibilities in single-phase systems under grid faults. The intent of this paper is to present a benchmarking of grid fault modes that might come in future single-phase PV systems. In order to map future challenges, the relevant synchronization and control strategies are discussed. Some faulty modes are studied experimentally and provided at the end of this paper. It is concluded that there are extensive control possibilities in single-phase PV systems under grid faults. The second-order-general-integral-based phase-locked-loop technique might be the most promising candidate for future single-phase PV systems because of its fast adaptive-filtering characteristics and it is able to fulfill future standards.

TL;DR: The market and technological perspectives for SONs are introduced and a self-booting mechanism for a newly added evolved NodeB without a dedicated backhaul interface is illustrated, and mobility load balancing as one of the most important selfoptimization issues for Long Term Evolution networks is discussed.
Abstract: With the rapid growth of mobile communications, deployment and maintenance of cellular mobile networks are becoming more and more complex, time consuming, and expensive. In order to meet the requirements of network operators and service providers, the telecommunication industry and international standardization bodies have recently paid intensive attention to the research and development of self-organizing networks. In this article we first introduce both the market and technological perspectives for SONs. Then we focus on the self-configuration procedure and illustrate a self-booting mechanism for a newly added evolved NodeB without a dedicated backhaul interface. Finally, mobility load balancing as one of the most important selfoptimization issues for Long Term Evolution networks is discussed, and a distributed MLB algorithm with low handover cost is proposed and evaluated.

TL;DR: A simple and highly efficient method for dopamine (DA) detection using water-soluble silicon nanoparticles (SiNPs) was reported, with a detection limit of 0.3 nM, which is the lowest limit reported so far.
Abstract: A simple and highly efficient method for dopamine (DA) detection using water-soluble silicon nanoparticles (SiNPs) was reported. The SiNPs with a high quantum yield of 23.6% were synthesized by using a one-pot microwave-assisted method. The fluorescence quenching capability of a variety of molecules on the synthesized SiNPs has been tested; only DA molecules were found to be able to quench the fluorescence of these SiNPs effectively. Therefore, such a quenching effect can be used to selectively detect DA. All other molecules tested have little interference with the dopamine detection, including ascorbic acid, which commonly exists in cells and can possibly affect the dopamine detection. The ratio of the fluorescence intensity difference between the quenched and unquenched cases versus the fluorescence intensity without quenching (ΔI/I) was observed to be linearly proportional to the DA analyte concentration in the range from 0.005 to 10.0 μM, with a detection limit of 0.3 nM (S/N = 3). To the best of our ...
