TL;DR: Both exponential stability and periodic oscillatory solution of bidirectional associative memory (BAM) networks with axonal signal transmission delays are considered by constructing suitable Lyapunov functional and some analysis techniques.
Abstract: Both exponential stability and periodic oscillatory solution of bidirectional associative memory (BAM) networks with axonal signal transmission delays are considered by constructing suitable Lyapunov functional and some analysis techniques. Some simple sufficient conditions are given ensuring the global exponential stability and the existence of periodic oscillatory solutions of BAM with delays. These conditions are presented in terms of system parameters and have important leading significance in the design and applications of globally exponentially stable and periodic oscillatory neural circuits for BAM with delays. In addition, two examples are given to illustrate the results.

TL;DR: A family of three-dimensional chiral metal-formate frameworks displays paraelectric to ferroelectric phase transitions between 191 and 254 K, triggered by disorder-order transitions of NH(4)(+) cations and their displacement within the framework channels, providing a new class of metal-organic frameworks showing the coexistence of magnetic and electric orderings.
Abstract: A family of three-dimensional chiral metal–formate frameworks of [NH4][M(HCOO)3 ] (M = Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, and Zn) displays paraelectric to ferroelectric phase transitions between 191 and 254 K, triggered by disorder–order transitions of NH4+ cations and their displacement within the framework channels, combined with spin-canted antiferromagnetic ordering within 8–30 K for the magnetic members, providing a new class of metal–organic frameworks showing the coexistence of magnetic and electric orderings.

TL;DR: The experimental findings are consistent with theoretical predictions of spin-polarized conduction and valence bands at the K point of the Brillouin zone, with the minimum gap occurring between bands of opposite electron spin.
Abstract: Transition metal dichalcogenides in the class MX_{2} (M=Mo, W; X=S, Se) have been identified as direct-gap semiconductors in the monolayer limit. Here, we examine light emission of monolayer WSe_{2} using temperature-dependent photoluminescence and time-resolved photoluminescence spectroscopy. We present experimental evidence for the existence of an optically forbidden dark state of the band-gap exciton that lies tens of meV below the optically bright state. The presence of the dark state is manifest in the strong quenching of light emission observed at reduced temperatures. The experimental findings are consistent with theoretical predictions of spin-polarized conduction and valence bands at the K point of the Brillouin zone, with the minimum gap occurring between bands of opposite electron spin.

TL;DR: A fabricated pore enables us to interrogate a broader range of molecules with a wider range of conditions than can be investigated in a self-assembled protein pore in a lipid membrane.
Abstract: Nanopores can serve as high throughput, single-molecule sensing devices that provide insight into the distribution of static and dynamic molecular activities, properties, or interactions. We have studied double stranded DNA electrophoretic transport dynamics through fabricated nanopores in silicon nitride. A fabricated pore enables us to interrogate a broader range of molecules with a wider range of conditions than can be investigated in a self-assembled protein pore in a lipid membrane.
