Characterization of a new anhydrous form of Rotundine and its monohydrate

TL;DR: In this article, the anhydrous form and monohydrate are isolated and prepared via systemic crystallization screening, and the results show that the new form presents absorbable superiority relative to monohydrate, specifically the Cmax and AUC of an hydrous form were approximately 1.5 times those of monohydrate.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comparative study of antibacterial activity of cefazolin sodium and of its crystalline modifications.

TL;DR: The obtained results with the formation of different intermolecular H-bonds in the modifications could be due to the rotation about C(alpha)- C' and C-N bonds in the amide groups in their molecules.

Surface Electric Charge of the Active and Inactive Polymorphs of Chloramphenicol Palmitate

TL;DR: Differences in zeta-potential values were found for the crystalline particles of polymorph A when compared with polymorph B of chloramphenicol palmitate when measured at identical conditions as well as of the marked differences in bioactivity reported for the polymorphs.
Journal ArticleDOI

Snap frozen! Capturing two metastable polymorphs in a tetramorphic one-dimensional coordination polymer constructed from cadmium, dithiophosphate, and 4-pyridinealdazine

TL;DR: In this paper, four polymorphs are described for the one-dimensional coordination polymer {Cd[S2P(OMe)2]2(4-pyridine-aldazine)}n (1) which features a trans-N2S4 distorted octahedral coordination geometry.
Journal ArticleDOI

A new method for a quantitative determination of piroxicam in pharmaceutical formulations using FT-IR spectrometry.

TL;DR: A Fourier transform infrared spectrometric method was developed for the rapid, and direct measurement of piroxicam (Pir) in pharmaceutical drugs and conventional spectra were compared for best determination of active substance in pharmaceutical formulations.

Mechanism of sustained‐action medication. Theoretical analysis of rate of release of solid drugs dispersed in solid matrices

TL;DR: The analyses suggest that for the latter system the time required to release 50% of the drug would normally be expected to be approximately 10 per cent of that required to dissolve the last trace of the solid drug phase in the center of the pellet.

The united states pharmacopeia.

Robert A. Hatcher
- 04 Jan 1908 -
TL;DR: The Pharmacopeia was called into being by physicians in 1820, and in 1850 pharmacists were admitted to the convention; since then physicians have gradually relinquished control to pharmacists, and to-day the authors are confronted with an anomalous condition.

Thermal methods of analysis

TL;DR: In this article, a revised edition necessitated by the phenomenal growth of the field during the past decade contains 90% new material, focusing on tech niques and applications of thermal analysis.
