Abstract:
(11) Potassium ferricyanide has previously been used to convert w'c-1,2-dicarboxylate groups to double bonds. See, for example, L. F. Fieser and M. J. Haddadln, J. Am. Chem. Soc., 86, 2392 (1964). The oxidative dldecarboxylation of 1,2-dlcarboxyllc acids is, of course, a well-known process. See Inter alia (a) C. A. Grob, M. Ohta, and A. Weiss, Helv. Chim. Acta, 41, 1911 (1958); and (b) E. N. Cain, R. Vukov, and S. Masamune, J. Chem. Soc. D, 98 (1969).read more

Application of isotope ratio monitoring gas chromatography–mass spectrometry to the analysis of organic residues of archaeological origin
TL;DR: Isotope ratio monitoring gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (irm GC-MS) was used to determine the δ13C values of individual compounds present in organic residues preserved in archaeological potsherds.
Journal ArticleDOI
Review article number 38Triterpenoid saponins
TL;DR: The recent techniques used in their isolation and structure elucidation are discussed and a compilation of the triterpenoid saponins isolated and characterized during the period 1979–1986 along with their occurrence is included.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis and Aggregation of a Conjugated Helical Molecule
TL;DR: In this article, an improved method to synthesize helicenebisquinone 1 and an efficient method to resolve its enantiomers and those of other helicene bisquinones by separating derived derived camphanate esters were described.
Journal ArticleDOI
General method for purification of α-amino acid-n-carboxyanhydrides using flash chromatography.
TL;DR: Flash column chromatography on silica gel is described as a rapid and general method to obtain pure α-amino acid-N-carboxyanhydride (NCA) monomers, the widely used precursors for the synthesis of polypeptides, without the need for recrystallization.

Solid phase sequencing of biopolymers
Charles R. Cantor,Hubert Köster +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed methods for detecting and sequencing target nucleic acid sequences, and double-stranded nucleic acids sequences, including DNA or RNA in biological samples such as patient biopsies and environmental samples.
